What do you think of my grounding effect, under the birds? This happened totally by accident, but I think it turned out kind of nice. Some of the ink on my stamp block came off onto the image panel as I was stamping the sentiment. I was upset at first (I seam to do this a lot, mess up my cards on the very last step) but then I realized that I could make it work. I just needed to continue the effect all the way across the panel. So I inked up the block (on purpose this time) and stamped the ground under my birdies. Kind of neat, wouldn't you say?! I'm definitely going to have to try this one again!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed your little visit with me today!

LOL, I can totally relate! Some of the best tricks and ideas come from last minute saves! :) What a fun card, I love the border punch element.
ReplyDeleteoh, that's so funny!! And it's the perfect touch to the card! You must do it again on purpose! I love it!! The bling is making my heart sing all the way up here in Canada!!

ReplyDeleteHi Maile,
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect mistake - it makes it look really arty and a great contrast between the bright buttons. Love the layout too on this - with the sweet little extra of the apron border :D
I have had a little think about your pictures, but I am absoloutly hopeless at stuff like this and they look great to me. I will ask around on the forum to see if anyone has any good tips :D
Have a great day,

aaah well deserved good news..... your cards are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome way to turn a mistake into perfection!
ReplyDeleteVery very cool, will have to try this little "technique" myself! Love the card!
ReplyDeleteHey Maile,
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't been around much these days! You know, taking care of my boys, keeping up house, and cooking, all that stuff! ;)
Love this card! Yeah, the pictures still don't click to be enlarged. I'm not sure why that is. I know blogger is picky and if you mess things around like move your pictures after they've been uploaded, that sometimes messes with it too. I tried to see if there was something in blogger settings that would change this, but I couldn't find anything. Sorry! I really think it would be great for people to be able to click on your pictures to see all the lovely detail too! Bummer.
Far as editing, I use photoshop, but if you have any photo program, like picasa you can usually do adjustments with your photos to brighten them amd make them pop a little more. They have some auto settings you can use, or use the different tuning or effects to mess with it. I usually use the levels, and brightness/contrast when using photoshop.
Hope any of this helps!! I'm not a pro at anything, but I try to learn as I go!! Hope you're having a great day!!
Love the polka dots and rhinestones!
ReplyDeleteCute, cute, cute! Great LO and colors!
ReplyDeleteOMG your "ground" is too cool! I love it when I can take a mistake and turn it into "on purpose" LOL. To help your details show up, you might want to try a totally white background for your cards. Amy Sheffer did an amazing tutorial HERE (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=448961) that may help ya.
ReplyDeleteAnywho, just found your blog, and I love your work! Off to put you on my Google Reader!
Oh I love happy oopsies! Card is awesome!
