Papertrey Ink March Release Projects

The Papertrey Ink March Countdown is about to come to an end and I'm here to share my final projects with you today. But, before I do, let me remind you that everything you've seen peeks of will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink beginning 10 pm EST tonight.

Now, let me get started!...

First up... Framed Out #2 (by Heather Nichols) and Super Stars (by Nichole Heady).Stamped an arrangement of stars in a color combo of Aqua Mist, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise and Berry Sorbet. Finished the card off with a Ranger Glossy Accented frame and a sentiment.Next up... Little Bitty Bird Additions (by Heather Nichols).Stamped the branches (from Little Bitty Bird), bird house and sentiment in Kraft ink. Then touched each up with Copic markers.Next up... Tremendous Treats: Birthday (by Nichole Heady).I created this card for my adorable son who will be turning 5 very soon. He can't wait to celebrate it with a pirate themed birthday. Here's How: I started this card by die cutting a 5 from cardstock to use as a template, placed the template onto a die cut Spiral Notebook Page and colored with a Copic marker. Here's a tip: I was careful to fill in the template as quickly as possible to prevent the marker from bleeding. Next... World's Greatest (by Melissa Bickford). I started by stamping the sentiment in Smokey Shadow ink and then the ties in a color combo of Enchanted Evening, New Leaf, Aqua Mist & Hawaiian Shores. Then stamped the DAD tie inside the card to finish off the sentiment.Here's... On The Links (by Lizzie Jones).Whipped out my In The Meadows dies to create a few grassy hills and then attached a carefully hand cut golf cart along the Smokey Shadow path. How about some... Back Pocket Basics?! (By Melissa Bickford)I'm loving the color combo on this card! A combo of Spring Rain, Melon Berry, Berry Sorbet, Smokey Shadow and Rustic White. Stamped the pocket in Spring Rain and colored the flowers in with coordinating Copic Markers.Last, but not lease... Heart-2-Heart (by Melissa Bickford).I love a pop of color on a solid white card base, but this time around I wanted to switch things up. I begin with colorful card bases (Spring Rain, Raspberry Fizz and Summer Sunrise) and then added pops of black.

Well, that's all of them!

Super Stars

Hello all! Let me begin by saying "Thank You" to everyone who left me such comforting well wishes yesterday. From the bottom of my heart, it meant so much! You have truly made the healing process a bit easier.

Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink Countdown and the second group post day. This time around we bring you Super Stars, designed by Nichole Heady, a truly super set! Each of us has picked an inspiration piece via Pinterest. Here's what I chose to work with...This gorgeous Anthropology window display inspiration piece can be found here. Anyone else as crazy about Anthropology as I am? Love that store! Anyways, I was inspired by the bright and bold color combo of the square and rectangle pieces. I interpreted them into a color combo of Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise and Hawaiian Shores. I began this card by stamping the sentiment in True Black and the dotted flourish in Summer Sunrise.I then stamped the large star three times (using Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise and Hawaiian Shores inks), trimmed, layered the stars together with dimensional adhesive and attached to the card base. Just A Note: I trimmed the card base to 5" x 3 1/2" to accommodate the star hanging over the edge.

Well, that's it from me today. Be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...

Birthday Bash

Hello my friends! So glad you're joining me today for the Papertrey Ink March Countdown! Before I begin with this months first group post projects, I'd like to give you all a little personal update. But, if your not up for it please feel free to scroll down a little.

Personal Update: So, things have been a bit quiet around here. I really haven't been up to much the last 2 1/2 weeks except for recovering from surgery, an operation to replace my torn ACL. It may surprise most of you to know that, in addition to stamping and card making, I enjoy riding my dirt bike. Crazy, I know! It's been an activity that my husband and I have enjoyed together for over 10 years. I've taken my fair share of spills, but this last fall was the one that finally got me. Anyways, the operation went very well and recovery is moving along slowly but it sure is nice to finally be down to one crutch and back in the craft room. So forgive me if my creations are not up to snuff this month.

Now, back to business... This months first Design Team group post is all about the perfect birthday bash. We've been busy creating collections perfect for a celebration using the 2012 Birthday Tags stamp set, By Invitation stamp set and Card Base-ics Dies (all will be available beginning March 15th through Papertrey Ink). Here's what I came up with...
First up is a Happy Birthday To You collection. This collection uses a soft yet fun color combo of Aqua Mist, Melon Berry and Dried Marigold (a Ranger Distress Ink). This birthday card began by stamping the star circle tag image, in the above colors, onto a white cardstock panel.I trimmed additional stars and attached them with dimensional adhesive. Finished the panel off with a sentiment stamped in Smoky Shadow ink and then attached the stamped panel onto a white card base.I then created a coordinating tag. Simply die cut a Tag Sale #5 tag from white cardstock. Attached a punched star circle tag and a die cut flourish (from Fancy Flourishes). To complete this party ensemble I created an invitation by die cutting a base from white cardstock using one of the new Card Base-ics dies. Stamped the base with a second circular tag image in the same color combo. I then inserted a die cut Button Card after stamping it with the info lines from By Invitation. Topped it all off with an additional star circular tag images, which was stamped and trimmed to match.I have a couple more cards to share with you today, to help show case the 2012 Birthday Tags stamp set. First up a pairing of 2012 Birthday Tags and Background Basics: Wrought Iron with Beautiful Butterflies.I stamped the Birthday Best Wishes oval tag in Smoky Shadow ink and colored in the details with a few colorful Copic markers (BG13, R32, YG95 & YR15). Attached the tag to a die cut Spiral Notebook Page, stamped with butterflies and wrought iron. Wrapped it with silk ribbon and attached to a kraft card base.Lastly, a simple card inspired by this oval tag featuring a small banner sentiment.I attached a number of colorful hand cut banner edged strips to a Rustic White card base and topped them off with the oval tag, after I colored the sentiment with coordinating Copic markers (BG13, RV17, Y35 & YR15).

Well, that's it from me today. Be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...
