May 2011 PTI Blog Hop

Today is the the day of the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop Challenge, and this months challenge is all about flowers. Thought I would join in on the fun by pulling out my Modern Basics stamp set to create some fun flowers. Here's a card I whipped up just for the challenge...I started by embossing a white card base with the largest of the Turning A New Leaf dies.Next up, I stamped a fun modern flower design using a few of the rounded square images included in Modern Basics. Stamped the largest in Berry Sorbet, medium one in Orange Zest and the smallest in Summer Sunrise. Embellished the centers with rhinestones and mounted them to the card base with dimensional adhesive. Here's How: (1) I started by stamping the linear square 4 times, to form a simple 4 petal flower shape. (2) Then stamped the same 4 petal shape again in the opposite direction. At this point you could add an embellishment to the center and call it done. (3) Or you could take it a step further and finish it off with a solid square stamped within 4 more petals, like I did with the polka dot Summer Sunrise image. Then finish it off with an embellishment of your choice and cut it out.

That's it from me today, be sure to stop by Nichole Heady's blog for all the Blog Hop details and to see what everyone else came up with.

Thanks for stopping by!

February PTI Blog Hop

I'd like to start off today, by sending out a huge Thank You to each and everyone of you who left me such kind and encouraging words yesterday. Definitely made for a fun day, reading what you all had to say.Now onto the February Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. This months blog hop is in honor of the PTI Design team. The challenge is to select a project they have created, use it as inspiration and recreate a project with your own spin, making it unique. I have always found the ladies of the PTI Design Team to be full of talent and have always looked up to them for inspiration. I count it as a huge blessing to be apart of such a talented team.

I fell in love with this card by Dawn McVey and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to give it a try. I would have never come up with an idea like this on my own, wouldn't it be awesome to get inside of Dawn's head and see how her creative mind works! Here is my take...
I changed up the layout and the color combo (added Aqua Mist and used White instead of Rustic Cream). Dawns butterfly was created using a larger scaled flourish (from Fancy Flourishes) and its mirror image, I went with two smaller flourishes and the coordinating mirror images.
The Aqua Mist card base was stamped, in Versamark, with an image from Background Basics: Tin Types. Embellished the butterfly with Berry Sorbet vintage buttons (strung with yellow embroidery floss) and a Lemon Tart bow. Stamped the sentiment, from Asian Fusion on a Lemon Tart strip and trimmed the edge with scalloped scissors.

Thanks Dawn for such great inspiration and thank you for hopping by! Enjoy the Blog Hop!

November PTI Blog Hop

Hello and welcome everyone! Today is PTI Blog Hop day and this months challenge is in honor of the fast approaching holidays. With this in mind, we are to create a quick and inexpensive tag or wrap idea that can be the perfect solution for "grab and go" gifts.

I was on a roll for this challenge, I have a few creations to share with you. First up are Tags... This tag set was stamped using labels from Vintage Labels set, images from Winter Swirls set and sentiments from Signature Christmas, then cut out by hand (since I don't have the label 1 dies). Colors used were: Dark Chocolate, Scarlet Jewel & Spring Moss. Each tag was finished off with just a touch of glitter added to the swirls and dark chocolate floss. To use just stamp or write To & From onto the back side and attach to the gift.

Keeping with the quick and inexpensive ideas, here are a couple of bags...
It doesn't get any easier than this! Just stamp a sentiment in Ocean Tides and a few snowflakes in white, both from Snowflake Serenade. Then embellish with a big button bow, glitter and call it good.
Last and certainly not least is a simple yet classy look. Started with a strip of Scarlet Jewel cardstock, stamped it with snowflakes from Winter Swirls in Versamark. Layered one of the tags from above onto the strip and embellished with ribbon. Easy Peasy!

I do hope you enjoyed my creations and found some useful and easy ideas to help you out this holiday season (which will be here before we know it!). Thanks for hopping by and have a blessed Thanksgiving day tomorrow!

PTI September Blog Hop

This is my second post today, so please scroll down to see the first.
Its time again for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. This months challenge is to Go Green: to reuse, repurpose and recycle our packaging from our Papertrey Packages. Here is what I came up with...
I chose to reuse three different packaging materials to create my flower... the corrugated cardboard, the kraft colored packaging paper and the cream colored packaging paper. I cut all three using my Blossom Nestabilities, stamped the cream paper with red polka dots, and tied them all together with a button and a twine knot.
Can't wait to see what everyone else created! Thanks for hopping by, I hope you enjoyed!

August PTI Blog Hop

This months PTI Blog Hop challenge is to create a project inspired by Autumn. Here is what I came up with...

This is my favorite time of the year, what's not to love about this season! There is so much to be inspired by... the changing of the leaves, warm fuzzy sweaters, roaring fires, rich colors and so on. My choice for adding texture was embroidery floss (no surprise there since I've been using it like crazy) and a torn and distressed edge. I stamped my Beautiful Blooms leaf image in brown then added little berries by tying french knots with red embroidery floss.

Wrapped more embroidery floss under the punched apron lace border and finished the card off with a sentiment and another cute little berry.
I find it hard to believe that fall is just around the corner, but it can't get here soon enough! So what is your favorite season of the year? I'd love to know!
Oh, and another note... I have been blogging for just over a month now and I'm loving it! I have been blessed to meet and become friends with many incredible and talented people through this outlet. Thanks to each and everyone of you who take the time to visit me!

Well thanks for hopping by! Hope you enjoyed!
