I first tried my hand at the good old dip, dab, and stamp. It worked quite well. I just needed to have a gentle hand when loading up with paint. Here's How: Quirt a small amount of paint onto a paper towel, and spread paint out with the handle end of a paint brush. Dab, dab, dab, your stamp for an even coat, and stamp.
The image dries quickly too! Important Note: So quickly in fact that you'll need to place your paint covered stamps into a cup of water immediately. But, no worries if the paint dries on your stamps, it comes off with a bit of rubbing under running water.
I love the goopy effect that's acheived with this technique. Here I've used the yellow gold Martha Stewart craft paint. The shimmer is divine!
Next, I pulled out my paint brush. Using a slightly wet paint brush I painted a swash of rose chrome colored paint directly onto a white cardstock panel.
I build up a few layers of paint before stamping/impressing my stamp image into the paint. Here's a Tip: Have your desired stamp image all ready to go, so you can move quickly. Also, if you mess up you can brush out the mistake with a bit more paint and stamp again.
My last technique of the day simply involves painting your die cuts. Here's a Tip: Play around with the dampness of your paint brush, a wet brush will give you lots of saturation and a dry brush will give you a lighter and carefree look.
I've created a airy dip dyed look by simple painting (with a mostly dry brush) the bottom edge of these die cut So Striking clouds with sterling colored acrylic paint. The sun... yep, it was stamped in ink.
So what do you think?! You gonna give this one a try? I sure do hope so! Well, that's it from me today.
