Big Balloon Ideas

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink June countdown!

Hooray!!!  Today's group post is all about balloons. And we bring you a great bunch of product!  Balloons can be used to celebrate a number of occasions.  I've chose to celebrate the occasion I create for the most.. a birthday.  Honestly, I could never run out of birthday inspiration.  I hope you'll enjoy what I have for you today.

Here are the items I am showcasing today...
  • Cover Plate: Balloon Bash die
  • Shaker Shapes: Balloon dies
  • Balloon Strings dies
  • Tucked In: Birthday stamp set
Take a look...
I've used the Cover Plate: Balloon Bash die to die cut a piece of Hooray pattern paper and mounted it onto a white card base on an angle.
Using colors from the pattern paper, raspberry fizz and orange zest, I die cut balloons using the Birthday Style die.  I rolled the edges of the balloons in versamark ink for a bit of a shaded look and curled them a bit before attaching them with dimensional adhesive.  From the Shaker Shapes: Balloon dies I used the "hooray!" cut from black cardstock.
I embellished the inside too.  I first stamped a sentiment from the Tucked In: Birthday stamp set and then placed balloon strings on either side, as if to make them appear to have balloons attached that are floating away.  May take a bit of imagination to see it that way though.

Well, that concludes today's look at the good old balloon. As for my new set... Ahoy, I just plum ran out of time to create a card to share in today's blog post.  So sorry.

However, just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning June 15th.  More details on these products can be found at the Papertrey Ink blog.

Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...

More Birthday Inspiration

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink June countdown!

Today's group post is focused on birthdays!  I bring you a look at the Hooray stamp set and papers by Lizzie Jones. This is an occasion to celebrate!  Every item being showcased today, by the PTI design team, is something to get excited about.  You're gonna love it all!
Check out the birthday ensemble I've assembled for you today, and be sure to hang in there until the end, I've got a peek of my new Ahoy stamp set too.
This adorable party hat is perfect for the star of the day.  It was created using the Party Hat die and embellished with a few stamps from the Hooray stamp set.  It was topped with an adorable little poof created with a bit of black baker's twine, here how to make one of your own.  Also stapled a couple ribbon ties into place before embellishing.
The aqua mist grossgrain ribbon was glued and scrunched into place with some hot glue.  Black die cuts, from the Party Hat die, were used to finish off this special hat.
This Cupcake Box die is the cutest!!!  It was cut from pattern vellum, wrapped with raspberry fizz baker's twine and topped with a die cut "birthday".  The black cardstock sentiment was simply tied into place with the bow.
A matching card to finish off the ensemble.
My inspiration for today blog post actually began with this little link, or the photo above. It sparked the card design, the colors used, and the pop of black that I chose to work with.
The Hooray stamp set and papers were a perfect match.
These die cut layered stars are from the Party Hat die.
As I mentioned above, here a quick look at my new stamp set... Ahoy.  This picture does this simple card no justice, the watercolor stamping for the waves look so much better in person.  I've got to catch the sun in just the right spot during the day to get the best photos, I obviously caught it at the wrong time for these shots.  Anyways, the waves were stamped in a color combo of aqua mist, spring rain and smokey shadow.
I topped it all off with a die cut rope and anchor and finished the card off with a sentiment.  All done up in smokey shadow ink.

Well, that concludes today's look at the new Hooray stamp set and papers, and the Ahoy stamp set. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning June 15th.  More details on these products can be found at the Papertrey Ink blog.

Inspiration By the Sea

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink June countdown!

Today is the first group post and it's all about gaining inspiration from the sea. We are showcasing two new sets today... Guiding Light and Ahoy.  Along with other new coordinating items... the Cover Plate: Waves and Light of Life sentiment stamp set.

Take a look...

Most of you are already pretty familiar with my new stamp set, Ahoy, since I've already been sharing samples over the last couple days.  Today I bring you one more!  The focus this time... the ship.  The sails are together in one stamp and the base/pole are another.  I carefully inked each sail a different color, soft stone and spring rain.
I nestled the tiny boat, rope, and tiny anchor into a portion of the die cut Cover Plate: Waves.  Then finished the card off with a Keep It Simple: Praying For You sentiment.
Here's a look at Guiding Light and Light of Life, they pair perfectly together.
These waves are leftover pieces from the Cover Plate: Waves die cut used on the card above. With the use of an enchanted evening ink pad I watercolor each piece with the smooshing technique.

Well, that concludes today's look at Guiding Light and Ahoy. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning June 15th.  More details on these products can be found at the Papertrey Ink blog.

Ahoy

Hi there! Welcome back for day two of the June Papertrey Ink countdown.  I am so excited to feature my newest set again today... Ahoy.

Here's a quick look...
This time I've got for you two one-layer cards, and the anchor takes the show.
I quickly stamped an anchor pattern using the colors blueberry sky, soft stone and spring rain.  A focal point was created using the rope image and sentiment.
This back drop was created using the second wave option included in the Ahoy stamp set.  The first wave option was showcased yesterday, here.
Here's a quick rundown of what you get in the Ahoy stamp set...
  • 2 build-able boat parts
  • 2 types of waves
  • 7 supportive images
  • 7 sentiments
All are made to coordinate seamlessly.

Well, that concludes today's look at Ahoy. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning June 15th

Bloomers, Scripted, and Ahoy

Hi there! Welcome to day one of the June Papertrey Ink countdown.

I am so excited about today's feature!  Today I bring you a look at a couple of Dawn McVey's new sets. Bloomers... A gorgeous new floral set that will leave you smitten!  Scripted... Script style sentiments that are a bit unique compared to others on the market.  You can stamp them directly onto your card, or make a bigger impact with a larger version of the dies. It's especially nice that you can still use the companion sentiments with the dies even thought they are larger!

After that, I'll have for you a peek at the next design in my Stamping Simply line up... Ahoy!  Hang in there until the end, you won't want to miss it.

I've got quite the assortment! Check it out...
"Many Blessings", from the Scripted stamp set, was stamped repeatedly onto a die cut Sentiment Splits: Angle Vertical panel in soft stone ink, using the same idea I previously shared here.
Over that, I layered the Bloomers images in melon berry, winter wisteria, aqua mist and true black.  Mounted the stamped panel using dimensional adhesive, and then finished the card off with gold dots and a sentiment (also from Scripted).
This simple little number focuses on the floral starburst center image from Bloomers. I stamped it in gold onto the other half of my die cut Sentiment Splits: Angle Vertical panel, left over from the card above.
I mounted this stamped piece flush against the card base, then for a bit of dimension I attached the "Just Because" die cut (from Scripted) using foam adhesive.  A simple design, but the gold and black really make it pop.
For this project I pulled out a pattern paper sheet from the Black & White All Over paper pad.
Stamped a few Bloomers, attached a "Birthday Girl" (from Scripted), embellished with rhinestones, and added a black cardstock corner. A few easy steps and two great stamp sets helped me transformed this simple piece of paper.

Next, let us move on to the newest stamp set and die combo in my Stamping Simply lineup... Ahoy.
This nautical set is perfect for creating projects for all ages. With the neat ocean elements, stylish sentiments and nautical icons, you will be able to create all kinds of different projects.
This one's great for a graduate, a friend setting off for vacation, someone who's about to embark on a new path in life, or even for a birthday as they begin another fun year in life.  Just a note... the circle and rope are both separate dies, I just layered the two together.  Also, keep in mind as we progress through this release week, that this one rope image will prove to be a very versatile piece.
I used the same waves as above, but this time stamped this strip three times in enchanted evening, blue berry sky and spring rain.
I then mounted a tag with staples and stamped a sentiment.  This tiny tag is a much smaller version of the Tag Sale #5, it also comes with a matching image. Isn't this font just too much fun?!

Well, that concludes today's look at BloomersScripted and Ahoy. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning June 15th

Mirror Finish

Thanks for joining me today for this weeks Papertrey Ink Design Team Tip!
It was quite by accident that I came across today's tip.  A happy mistake lead to the discovery of the transformation that takes place when stamping luxe gold or silver cardstocks with a bit of Versamark ink. Unlike regular cardstock, when stamping onto the Luxe papers the impression left behind is bold and very visible.  I hope you too will be as amazed as I was with this look.  Check it out!...
The stamping creates a sort of mirror finish.  It is soooooo shiny in person!  But a bit hard to capture by camera.
Seriously, the shine is impressive.  This works great on both luxe silver and gold cardstocks.  Here's a tip... If you decide to give this technique a try, handle this cardstock with care because this cardstock picks up fingerprints super easily.
My first project features the luxe gold cardstock stamped with the dots from the Irresistibly Ikat.
The flowers in the arrangement are from the Quilted: Summer stamp set.
Here's a look at luxe silver in action.
A small shiny detail like this stamped Southwestern Style strip makes a big impact.
Another option... Versamark ink will take a long time to dry.  So, if your stamping is at a minimum it should be just fine.  If your stamping is bold and covers a good amount of your card another option, to prevent smearing, would be to heat emboss with clear embossing powder.  The look is slightly different, but you get the same effect.
Check it out up close on these heat embossed butterflies from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set.
So what do you think?!  You gonna give this one a try?   I sure do hope so!  Well, that's it from me today.

Thanks for stopping by.
