On Repeat

Thanks for joining me today for this weeks Papertrey Ink Design Team Tip!

Today, I'm putting my sentiments on repeat.  By using them over and over again, creating a neat backdrop for my focal images.  It's a simple technique using only one stamp that can take your project up a notch in an unexpected way.  It works great with pretty much any sentiments already included in your stamp collection!  I found a bit of inspiration via this old card (the one at the bottom of the post).
Here's how it's done... You stamp once in a bold color (I've used black here) next to your focal image, creating a strong focal point.  Then stamp repeatedly in a much lighter, less distracting color (like soft stone). Easy peasy!
You can stamp your focal point first, like I did here.
Or you can stamp your sentiments first, like on this card.
And then arrange your arrangement around your sentiment grouping.
It's a pretty easy going, carefree look that's really hard to mess up.
Stamp them up, down, straight, angled or all wonky.  It's up to you!

So what do you think?!  You gonna give this on a try?   I sure do hope so!  Well, that's it from me today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Introducing Make It Market Mini Kit: Clipsters (Plus Sentiment Splits Day Five)

Hello and welcome to day 5 of the Papertrey Ink March countdown!

Today's group post is all about the new Make It Market Mini Kit: Clipsters, designed by Betsy Veldman!  What a cool collection!  Clipsters is quickly becoming a new go-to embellishment set for me.  I know it soon will be a go-to for you too!

Check out what I've got for you today.  I've got a bit of my new Sentiment Splits collection mix into the bunch too...
Here I've combined a ton of great elements from Make It Market Mini Kit: Clipsters with the Sentiment Splits: Angle Vertical dies, which I used to die cut panels from shimmer cardstock.
And when I say great, I mean great... Everything you see here is from the Clipster kit (except for the glitter dots).
Next up, a much simpler take using the same supplies. A panel cut using the Sentiment Splits: Curve Vertical die sits at the top of this layout.
I clipped and embellished it and then finished the card off with a sweet sentiment and tiny flowers from the Clipster stamp set.
The card above inspired this card here. I grouped and arranged (top and bottom) a few of the same Sentiment Splits die cut pieces on top of an entire sheet of Clipster pattern paper. This is a lot of pattern for me, but I really love the way it turned out.
This sentiment fits perfectly, you could say I love this card lots.  Ha!  The doted piece was die cut from cardstock that had previously been cut by the Cover Plate: Chicken Scratch die.
Did I already mention that this clipster kit makes great embellishments?!  Well, I meant it!

Well, that concludes today's look at Make It Market Mini Kit: Clipsters and Sentiment Splits. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning March 15th.  More details on these products can be found at the Papertrey Ink blog.

Introducing Petite Places: Sweet Shoppe (Plus Sentiment Splits Day Four)

Hello and welcome to day 4 of the Papertrey Ink March countdown!

Today's group post is focused on Petite Places: Sweet Shoppe and its coordinating products, designed by Betsy Veldman!  You're in for a sweet treat!  This collection is as sweet as can be.  Every detail has been so cleverly thought out and it's been a real treat to work with.

Check out what I've got for you today and be sure to hang in there until the end, I've got a couple new sneak peeks of my new Sentiment Splits collection too...
Here's a sweet package for you today!
This colorful neighborhood was stamped using all four sides of today's featured sweet shoppe.
I accented this colorful block with a few stamped black accents.  Plus, the addition of a Sentiment Splits: Curve Horizontal die cut panel allowed me to stamp a Sweet Shoppe Sentiments sentiment in an unexpected way, just over the edge.
For my dome tag candied stripes was the theme I was going for.  This sheet of pattern paper, from the Watercolor Wonder paper pad, had the strips I was going for and the perfect color combo.
I wanted to be sure the this sweet sweets shoppe would fit tucked in closer to the edge of the dome.  So, I left off the taller store front (a separate piece) and fit the stripped shade at the top edge. It's a bit hard to see in the photo... but all the shop accessories were die cut from white shimmer cardstock.  It's so pretty in person!

Now on to a few Sentiment Splits samples...
This one features both cuts from the Sentiment Splits: Angle Horizontal die. The larger size cut from pattern vellum and the smaller from white linen, which was stamped with this stunning floral from Brushed Blooms.  I played around with the arrangement and tweaked the angles a bit.  Kind of a funky layout, but I kind of like it!
Finished the card off with a couple buttons, a satin bow, and a Sentiment Splits sentiment.
This card was really hard to keep under wraps.  I love this one!  I took the Sentiment Splits: Angle Vertical... and flipped it. The sentiment is now at the top of the layout.  Not in the split, but above it!
Got a dot theme going on over here... dots in the butterflies, on the pattern paper, and the button is a dot itself.

Well, that concludes today's look at Petite Places: Sweet Shoppe and Sentiment Splits. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning March 15th.  More details on these products can be found at the Papertrey Ink blog.

Introducing Chicken Scratch (Plus Sentiment Splits Day Three)

Hello and welcome to day 3 of the Papertrey Ink March countdown!

Today is the first group post and it's all about the new Chicken Scratch Collection by  Erin Lincoln! This fun set is unlike any other!  It's an amazing concept and I had a blast working with this set!  I may have taken a step out of the box with today's feature, but that just expresses how versatile and great this set truly is!

Check out what I've got for you today.  Be sure to hang in there until the end, I've got a few new sneak peeks of my new Sentiment Splits collection too...
How fun is this Cover Plate: Chicken Scratch die?!  This was the base for my stamped panel, I just trimmed off the outer edge before attaching it to my card base.
Using one of the stitched images, I stamped an ombre heart using these colors... hibiscus burst, melon berry and pure poppy.  Added a few matching embroidery floss stitches and a Sentiment Splits sentiment.
This stylish flower was stamped using one of the large stitched formations.  Stamped first in pure poppy, rotated, stamped in hibiscus burst, rotated, and stamped in melon berry.
Finished this one-layer card off with a Sentiment Splits sentiment.
Now on to a few Sentiment Splits samples.
This simple card features a bit of layering, using one portion of the Sentiment Splits: Curve Vertical die.  Smokey shadow under a bit of Gold Luxe Foil pattern paper.
This second card is virtually the same card as above.  In fact the card above was the start of this one.  This is one versatile layout!
A bit of floral stamping to take this card up a notch!  I'm just loving the melon berry, ocean tides and gray/black combo these days.
This card split was created from a smokey shadow topper and a white linen bottom.  I just flipped the die cut panels around and this not only gives me another look, when using the Sentiment Splits: Curve Horizontal die, but also allows me to stamp the sentiment front and center.  The curve in the Sentiment Splits sentiments fits in the very center of the cut out when placed at the top.
A beautiful bouquet to fill in the space.  A touch of Wink of Stella and a melon berry button to finish things off.

Well, that concludes today's look at Chicken Scratch and Sentiment Splits. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning March 15th.  More details on these products can be found at the Papertrey Ink blog.

Sentiment Splits Day Two

Hi there! Welcome to day two of the March Papertrey Ink countdown.

Today my newest addition to my Stamping Simply line up, the Sentiment Splits collection, is officially being introduced on the Papertrey Ink blog.  Be sure to get all the detail there!  Also, Laura Bassen is focusing on Sentiment Splits too!  I shared a couple project yesterday, featuring these new products of mine.  Today I bring you a couple more...
Yesterday I shared the Sentiment Splits: Angle Vertical die with you here. Today I bring you the Sentiment Splits: Curve Vertical die.  The obvious focus of this die and its coordinating sentiments is the curve.  There are two panel sizes that can be die cut using this die, the largest size allows you to cover the entire card front.
I die cut my panels from a sheet of Watercolor Wonder paper pad.  Once the panels were attached to the Smokey Shadow card base I heat embossed a coordinating sentiment.
Here I've used the same Sentiment Splits: Curve Vertical die, but applied it to a horizontal layout.  This card design utilizes the smaller die cut panels, which were cut from pattern vellum.
I layered the vellum over stamped butterflies and nestled a coordinating sentiment into the open curve. Embellished the card with a few buttons, which also helped hide my adhesive to hold the vellum in place.  I also folded the top portion of the vellum over the edge of the card and adhered the excess to the back side.

Well, that concludes today's look at Sentiment Splits. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning March 15th.  Don't forget to stop by Nichole Heady's and Laura Bassen's blogs for more Sentiment Splits details and ideas.

Enclosed: Graduate, Keep It Simple: Graduation, and Sentiment Splits

Hi there! Welcome to day one of the March Papertrey Ink countdown.

I'm here today to share a few samples using a few of this months new products... Enclosed: Graduate (by Dawn McVey), Keep It Simple: Graduation (by Nichole Heady) and Sentiment Splits (by me).  Check it out...
Enclosed: Graduate... This graduation cap die set and the coordinating stamps opens up all kinds of possibilities for tags and cards!  Here's a fun way to used this "Congrats" grad hat die with a combination of pattern papers.
The striped panel was cut using one of the new Sentiment Splits dies.  The sentiment strip was stamped using a phrase from Keep It Simple: Graduation.
My focus for this card... the solid Enclosed: Graduate grad cap die.  I die cut a colorful assortment of Papertrey Ink pattern papers and arranged them into a background pattern.  A bit busier then my usual style.
Using the Sentiment Splits dies, I was able to create a perfect spot for an Enclosed: Graduate sentiment.

Well, bummer... I realized too late that I actually had not taken photos of my third Enclosed: Graduate card.  Edited...  I'm back with the card!
I really like this "Congrats" die!  It's a versatile piece.  Here I've used it as is, die cut from smokey shadow and layered it over a piece of Gold Luxe Foil paper.
Panels were die cut using the Sentiment Splits dies.  Embellished with a melon berry star button, a gold stamped tassel and an Enclosed: Graduate sentiment.

Next, let me focus on my newest addition to my Stamping Simply line up.  For March I bring you... Sentiment Splits.  This stamp and die combination is inspired by the slicing technique I've been using on my cards lately.  I'll have more detail on this collection in the days to come, during the countdown, but for today I wanted to give you a little peek...
The Doodlie-do stamp set has been calling my name, so I brought it out for today's projects.  I stamped these images onto my die cut panels in a cheery color combo.
Here's a better shot at the die cut panel, cut using the Sentiment Splits dies.  These dies cut two ready to use panels that, once attached, create the perfect little niche for a sentiment. Cut them from pattern paper or...
stamp on them, like I did here.  These two pieces fit perfectly onto this colorful card base, adding a pop of color and leaving the perfect spot for a coordinating sentiment.
This next card uses the Sentiment Splits dies and sentiments too.  This is the second die size option.  It's a bit smaller, which gives you another cool look.
There are many possibilities available with this collection and I look forward to sharing them with you over the next few days.

Well, that concludes today's look at Enclosed: Graduate, Keep It Simple: Graduation, and Sentiment Splits. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning March 15th

Now, be sure to visit Papertrey Ink blog for the details on today's featured new product.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
