Friends to the End

Hello there! So I've finally done it, it been on my mind for a while to play along with Jessica Witty's 10 Minute Scrap Pile Challenge and Nichole's Scrap-tastic Challenge. Two of my favorite designers in the whole wide world, I mean who doesn't look up to these super talented ladies!

Here is what came up out of my scrap pile... It actually came about out of a necessity to clean my work space, the mess had gotten out of hand and there was no room to create. There were too many good things, so I couldn't just toss everything into the scarp pile and forget about them. I really need to set up a scrap organization system like Ashley's, see her tidy idea here.

I started with the pink strip up top, it was already conveniently attached to a white card base. The kraft polka dot piece was a test piece for this card (to see if I would like the look of stamped polka dots before I actually stamped them onto the card base). The scallops came from an envelope full of unused punched borders.
The buttons on the twine were on my work area as is. The button color just wasn't quite right for the original card, so off it went. The raspberry ribbon is a scrap that I think came off of a gift, but I've had it forever.

Last is the sentiment label, it is actually a new piece made specifically for this card. Since it wasn't an actual scrap, I though it would be neat to cut a portion off and make it look like it originally was a scrap. Fooled ya didn't I! :)

Didn't think to take a before picture. When I started, I didn't know I was going to make a scrappy card. Oh well, it isn't necessary.

Wow, I've been very chatty today! Must be from the excitement of the CHA Super Show coming up! Can't wait to meet you guys! As always, thanks for spending some time with me today and sorry to talk your ear off. :)

November PTI Blog Hop

Hello and welcome everyone! Today is PTI Blog Hop day and this months challenge is in honor of the fast approaching holidays. With this in mind, we are to create a quick and inexpensive tag or wrap idea that can be the perfect solution for "grab and go" gifts.

I was on a roll for this challenge, I have a few creations to share with you. First up are Tags... This tag set was stamped using labels from Vintage Labels set, images from Winter Swirls set and sentiments from Signature Christmas, then cut out by hand (since I don't have the label 1 dies). Colors used were: Dark Chocolate, Scarlet Jewel & Spring Moss. Each tag was finished off with just a touch of glitter added to the swirls and dark chocolate floss. To use just stamp or write To & From onto the back side and attach to the gift.

Keeping with the quick and inexpensive ideas, here are a couple of bags...
It doesn't get any easier than this! Just stamp a sentiment in Ocean Tides and a few snowflakes in white, both from Snowflake Serenade. Then embellish with a big button bow, glitter and call it good.
Last and certainly not least is a simple yet classy look. Started with a strip of Scarlet Jewel cardstock, stamped it with snowflakes from Winter Swirls in Versamark. Layered one of the tags from above onto the strip and embellished with ribbon. Easy Peasy!

I do hope you enjoyed my creations and found some useful and easy ideas to help you out this holiday season (which will be here before we know it!). Thanks for hopping by and have a blessed Thanksgiving day tomorrow!

M's First Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday to you! Just playing around with M's First Sketch Challenge today (Hi Emma, thanks for such a fun challenge!)... I went to Michael's craft store with a friend yesterday, to help her pick up supplies for some b-day invites I will be making for her son's first birthday. While I was there I just had to browse the stamp aisle, I couldn't help but pick up a few too :). This adorable wreath was one that came home with me! I think it really looks great with the snowflake embossing folder.
This sure isn't your usual Christmas color combo, but I love it! So bright and cheery!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. We are headed to an Air Show tomorrow. My little man is all into air planes right now. It will make for a long day but it will be fun for sure! Thanks for stopping by and spending a little time with me today!

Holiday Greetings

Happy Wednesday! I just can't believe Christmas is just under 2 1/2 months away! So with that in mind, yesterday I was in the mood to make a Christmas card... I stamped the flourish Christmas Tree, from Tree Trimming Trio, onto a piece of PTI rustic cream cardstock. Matted it with spring moss cardstock punched with the upper crest border punch. Wrapped with brown floss and then attach three ornaments in scarlet jewel.

The sentiment, from Signature Christmas, was stamped onto a hand cut label from Vintage Labels. The sentiment label was a little lonely in the corner by it self, so I attach a couple strips of scarlet jewel twill ribbon.

Have a wonderful day!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #17

Hello again my friends! Thanks so very much for bearing with me in my absence. Yesterday I finally had a chance to play around with the newest color challenge by Dawn McVey. Here is what I came up with...
I really liked the flower paper in the picture so this is my handmade version, I randomly stamped the flower image in Versamark, red and aqua inks onto craft cardstock.
Last week when my mom and I were shopping for the party we had this weekend, we stopped by the craft store and I had a chance to pick up some fun fabrics. For this card I stamped a label, from my new Vintage Labels stamp set, onto some burlap and then cut it out (I don't have the coordinating dies for this stamp set, but I did find out that Nestabilities do work on burlap).
The flower was die cut from red felt then stitched onto the burlap with a button and brown floss. Using the same brown floss I stitched "Hi" onto the label.

I hope you had a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!
