Hey everyone! Thanks for joining me today, for the April Papertrey Ink Senior DT challenge. This time around we are bringing back Tea for Two and Tea for Two Additions! It's been fun pulling out these lovely sets.
Lately, I've been spotting such pretty painted earthenware all over the place. From Anthropologie to Pinterest, you name it. Check out the beauties here and here. Swoon! My eye has been particularly draw to the polka dot type, especially the golden detailed ones, which I've used for my inspiration for today's projects (and for last months challenge too)...
Today's ensemble features a thoughtful gift of tea and a card, perfect for wishing someone a quick recovery.
Using the polka dot tea pot from the Tea for Two set and the polka dot tea cup from the Tea For Two Additions,
I was able to heat emboss gold dots to resemble the painted dots from the inspiration pieces above. Yay! Check out that shine. It's so lovely in person.
Here's a Tip: A unique and easy handle topper, created using a single full sheet label (like these).
Here's How: I simply die cut a handle (using the Get A Handle On It Die Collection) from the sheet to create a peel and stick topper for a glassine bag.
Here's How: I recreated the painted gold look using the tea pot and cup (plus coordinating dies), an embossing pen and gold embossing powder. Simply stamped the images in sweet blush ink, heat them up a bit (using my heat embossing gun) to ensure dryness, drew dots with the embossing pen, covered with gold powder and then heat set.
What's neat about using the full sheet labels as handles is that they are super easy to tear into when opening. Bonus!
Well, that's it from me today. Now be sure to visit the other Papertrey Ink senior design team girls for more Tea for Two and Tea for Two Additions goodness...
Thanks for stopping by today!
