Hey there! I'v got a special treat for you today, a little something out of the ordinary for me...
I've been invited by the amazing Jennifer Rzasa to guess design for this weeks Runway Inspired Challenge. And I couldn't be more thrilled to participate! Check out the details here and the inspiration below...
It all begins with the inspiration, straight off the runway. Being a lover of fashion and keeping with the trends, I've been a fan of this challenge ever since it began.
There were a few pieces of inspiration I instantly found from the runway shot above... First, the question mark. Second, the shimmer/bling of the question mark. Third, the bright pink and black color combo.
Here's how I interpreted them... First, I scoured my Studio Calico Snippets and Sundrifter collections for a few punctuations and a sentiment. Second, I knew exactly what I wanted to use for the bling, some Studio Calico ultra faceted gems. Third, I whipped out my Hero Arts Pale Tomato ink (This ink may have pale in its name, but to me I think it takes on a beautifully vibrant appearance) and used it to stamp the banner from the Bountiful Banners set (This stamp set is a must! And this card illustrates just how perfectly these banners fit so well in any situation). Then the black ink pad came into play to help me ink up the two wood veneer punctuations.
For some reason the bottom circle has turned out a bit more orangey in the picture than in real life, so let's pretend it coordinates a little better than is shows here. :)
Also don't miss out on the chance to win a super prize, offered up by Ellen Hutson! Again, all the detail are can be found here.
Thanks for Jennifer for let me join in the fun!

What Pamela said ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Maile! Love your card. I have a quick question for you - I've noticed you seem to be using the Hero Arts mid tone shadow inks a lot lately and not Papertrey Ink's inks, is there a reason for that???? Just wondering before I make a purchase, thanks :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love your take on this!! Amazing design! Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us!
ReplyDeletevery neat Maile! Love the various elements and layers you used! :)
