Wplus9 March Release: Group Post Day

Hello again everyone! Long time no speak. Since my last post I've been enjoying some well needed and uninterrupted time with family. But I'm back today for the Wplus9 Group Post and release day.

Before I get to the card, I'd like to share a bit of news with you all. This will be my last month with Wplus9. I've truly enjoyed my time as part of the Wplus9 Design Team and working with the amazingly talented Dawn and the DT girls. But, I've come to realized that change, even though I can be hard at times, can be a good thing. I hope now to focus more on my home and family and my own stamp designs through Papertrey Ink. But, I thank Dawn endlessly for seeing the potential in me from the beginning (over a year ago) and giving me this wonderful opportunity to grow.

Now, back to my Group Post creation featuring Brothers & Sisters and All Occasion Label Die (yep you heard me right, Wplus9 now has coordinating dies! Does it get any better than this?! Yay!!!)...
Onto a kraft card base I stamped the gorgeous Dogwood image, from Flora & Fauna I, a few times in True Black. Then attached a strip of True Black cardstock.
Die cut the All Occasion Label Die from white cardstock and stamped with the background vine image, from Design Basics: Backgrounds II, in Ripe Avocado. Then layered the label images, from Brothers & Sisters, over that and attached. From the same stamp set, I stamped the sentiment onto a punched circle and attached with dimensional adhesive.

Now, be sure to get all the fun details about this months release here and you do not want to miss what the rest of the Design Team has to share with you all today. Stop by and check them out...

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed! Have a great day!

Color Cue {12} Challenge

Hello all! It's time for this months Color Cue {12} Challenge. Check it out...Colors I used: Kraft, Lavender Moon, Hawaiian Shores and Rustic White. Here is my take...
Today's card started by combining and stamping images from both Flora & Fauna I & Spring Post to create these unique postage stamps.
Here's an idea of how to quickly stamp your own. I started by stamping the dogwood image and then carefully selecting parts of the image to layer the postage stamp over. Then cut them out.
I then arranged and attached them directly to the kraft card base. Cut a strip of vellum cardstock, stamped with the sentiment (from Spring Post) and embellished with buttons and rustic twine. Here's A Tip: To hide the adhesive, I carefully placed Scor-Tape behind the buttons and then attached the vellum strip onto the card base.

I hope you too will join us in the Color Cue {12} Challenge fun! Look here for this months challenge details.

Wplus9 February Release: Group Post

Hello! Today is the Wplus9 Group Post and release day. Be sure to stop by the Wplus9 store to get your hands on the latest sets: Flora & Fauna I, Spring Post & Postmarked.

I'd like to share another card using the gorgeous Flora & Fauna I...
Today's card started with a kraft card base, which I stamped with the Dogwood image in Dark Chocolate ink. Then stamped a Rustic Cream sentiment strip with "Friend" (from Spring Post) and attached.
Stamped the butterflies onto both the card base and Rustic Cream cardstock. The butterflies on the Rustic Cream cardstock I colored (in purple and yellow) with Copic markers, cut out and attached over the butterflies on the card base.
For added dimension, the largest butterfly was stamped twice, cut out and layered.

The other girls of the Wplus9 Design Team have even more to share with you today. Stop by and check them out...

Wplus9 February Release: Day 4

Hello, it's me again! I'm back with a sneak peek at two new sets from this months Wplus9 release. Spring Post & Postmarked...be sure to check out the details here. To start, I stamped a Fine Linen card base with a couple of the postage stamp images (from Spring Post) in Fresh Snow ink and then rounded the bottom corner.
It was super easy to perfectly align and stamp these gorgeous images. Love the way it turned out!
Attached and trimmed a white Mat Stack #5 to the card base. Stamped a single postage stamp image, sentiment and a post mark onto white card stock and cut out. Then attached it over Fine Linen ribbon strips and embellished with a Sweet Blush button.

Wplus9 Feburary Release: Flora & Fauna I

Welcome, to day 1 of Wplus9's February Release! Today we bring you Flora & Fauna I, which...
  • is a 6X8 clear photopolymer stamp set
  • contains 7 stamps; 4 large focal images and 3 accent images
  • will be available for purchase February 1st for just $19

Every time I use this set, I think of my Mom. Dogwood and Cardinals are her favorite! How perfect is it that these two are featured together in one set. So, this ones for you Mom... For today's card, I've used only one of the focal images... the Cardinal. The Cardinal comes perched on a dogwood branch, which I stamped onto a die cut Rustic Cream frame. Colored with Copics and attached to a kraft card base. It may be a little hard to tell in the photo, but I stamped a row of woodgrain (using an image from Woodgrain Silhouettes) onto the card base before attaching the cardinal.

Next, I stamped the Cardinal image two more times, colored the flowers and then cut them out. Attached the flowers over and around the main image, to frame it. Finished it off with a sentiment and Fine Linen silk ribbon.

All Eyes On...Envelopes

It's time for another Wplus9 All Eyes On, and our focus this time around is on envelopes. Today I though I would focus on coordinating an envelope with a super simple and mail friendly card. I don't think it gets any flatter than a single layer card...An easy way to create such a card is to layer stamp images. Before I begin stamping, I love to play around and layout my stamps to help me figure out just the right arrangement. Check out this blog post for a better idea of what I am talking about. For today's project I've used both Ever After and Woodgrain Silhouettes.
On the front of the envelope, I kept the stamping to a minimum and made sure to leave enough room for the addresses.
I also coordinated the back flap of the envelope by using the same stamp layout as on the front.

Now check out what the rest of the Wplus9 Design Team has for you today:

I hope you will join us and share your envelope idea with us too! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

Embellish Scrapbook Layouts Color Challenge

Time for another Embellish Color Challenge! Check it out... The Challenge: To create a scrapbook layout using the colors pictured above. The Sponsor: Canvas Corp. Check them out here and here.

Ok, so please be easy on me this time around. It's been over 3 years since I last scrapbooked anything. You can say I am way behind on scraping my sons baby album, lol. Anyways, I must admit I had fun with this challenge. It was much easier than I though it would be.

Red was my choice (as long as you don't count the colors in the photos) for the third color of the challenge combo. I also chose to work with a few pictures from a photo session I did recently with my sister and her gorgeous family. I really wanted to focus on the photos of my beautiful sister and her hubby, to create a special layout for her to display in her home. Here is what I came up with...
Started by adhering a cream cardstock circle onto a base of chocolate and vanilla polka dot pattern paper.
To keep with a circle theme, I cut each photo out using a circle cutter. Arranged the photos from smallest to larges and attached along the right side of the large circle.
Before attaching the larger photo, I stamped and attached a cream sentiment strip. Trimmed the edges and attached the photo to the layout using dimensional adhesive. Embellished with a Pure Poppy and a polka dot chipboard button, both strung with chocolate twine.
Finished the layout with an embellished canvas circle. Here's How: This circle started as a round shape of cream colored canvas. To spruce it up a bit, I first punched a heart from cardstock and temporarily attached it to the canvas. This created a mask which I then sprayed over with Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist. Then I let it dry, removed the mask and embellished with another Pure Poppy button strung with twine.

Now it's your turn to join in the challenge fun! Look here for the challenge details, the Design Teams amazing creations and a fabulous prize. Hope to see your challenge creations soon!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great one!

I'd like to share another card using the ultra retro So 80's... I love this set! It's so unique and fun! Today's card started with the star, die cut from Raspberry Fizz felt. Topped it with a True Black star stamped onto die cut White Shimmer cardstock and a Raspberry Fizz button.
Before attaching the star, I stamped a white card base with a Summer Sunrise flame and tiny Raspberry Fizz stars. Once the star was attached, I stamped the sentiments on either side in True Black ink.

Wplus9 December Release: Day 2

Hello, and welcome to day 2 of the Wplus9 December Release. Today we bring to you: Sweet Nothings. A sentiment set that's centered around Dawn Woleslagle's very own hand writing. Check out all the details here. Attached a strip of Distressed Dots pattern paper onto a Fine Linen card base. Die cut a Double Ended Banner strip from Pure Poppy, attached on top of the patter paper and trimmed off the top edge.
Stamped "I love you" in True Black onto a white die cut Fillable Frames #10. Over the sentiment, I stamped the plaid image in Sweet Blush and a heart in Pure Poppy. The sentiment, plaid and heart are all from Sweet Nothings. Attached the stamped frame over the pattern paper strip. To create the Sweet Blush scalloped frame, I die cut a circle from the center of a die cut scalloped circle (both from the Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circle Die Collection). Attached it over the sentiment, with dimensional adhesive, and finished the card off with a Sweet Blush button and silk ribbon.

Color Cue {10} Challenge

Hello, everyone! I'm a day late, but yesterday was the start of the new Color Cue {10} Challenge. This month, each Design Team member has selected their own color combos for you all to choose from. Here is mine... Colors I used: New Leaf, Harvest Gold/Summer Sunrise, Pure Poppy & Hawaiian Shores. Here is my take...
My favorite way to use a combo of bright colors is to pop them off of a white base. Starting with a white card base, I stamped the ornaments and sentiment, from Classic Christmas, in black. Then colored with Copic Markers.
For a bit of sparkle and shine, I embellished each ornament with a glue pen and glitter.

I hope you too will join us in the Color Cue {10} Challenge fun! Look here for this months color combo choices and for all the details.

Wplus9 November Release: Group Post

It's day 4 of the Wplus9 November release. Today, the design team has come together to share a few treat ideas, all dressed up for holiday gift giving and featuring the Homemade Holiday Bundle. This bundle includes both All Occasion Tags & From The Kitchen Of.

For my treat, I baked some yummy Banana Bread... To dress things up a bit, I created a wrap for the pan using Pure Poppy cardstock and then wrapped it again with some white twill ribbon and tied into a bow. Topped it off with a cute little tag.
Stamped the tag image (from All Occasion Tags) in True Black onto kraft cardstock, cut it out and punched a hole at the top. Used the second label image, from the same set, and stamped it in True Black onto Christmas Prints pattern paper. Cut it out and attached to the kraft tag using dimensional adhesive. Punched a circle from white cardstock and stamped it with "Made With Love" (also from All Occasion Tags) and holly (from RetroGirly Christmas). Colored the holly in and attached the circle on top of the tag. Then tied the tag onto the wrap with some button twine.

Color Cue {8} Challenge

Hello, everyone! Today is the start of the 8th Color Cue Challenge. Take a look...
Colors I used were: Harvest Gold, Scarlet Jewel, Simply Chartreuse & White. I've got a couple cards to share with you and both use one of the peacock images from Magical Moments. Anyways, here's my take... Stamped the peacock in Scarlet Jewel and a sentiment (from the same set) in True Black into the corner of white cardstock, trimmed and attached to the Harvest Gold cardstock base. Wrapped the top of the card base with Harvest Gold satin ribbon.
Lastly, embellished the feathers with yellow and green rhinestones.

This second card is my favorite of the two. Just something about the simplicity of a few bold colors on a white card base is so pleasing to me...
Thought these colors made a fabulous jewel toned Christmas color combo. Couldn't help but turn them into a simply stunning Christmas card. Stamped the top of a white card base (measuring 3 3/4" X 5 1/2") with a sentiment in Scarlet Jewel and wrapped with Scarlet Jewel satin ribbon.
The peacock was created by stamping the image onto the card base in Simply Chartreuse. Carefully inked up the image a second time in Scarlet Jewel and Lemon Tart and stamped it onto a scrap piece of white cardstock. Punched out the body and attached it to the card base with dimensional adhesive. Finished it off with clear rhinestones.

I hope you too will join us in the Color Cue {8} Challenge fun! Look for the challenge details here.

Wplus9 September Release: Group Post

Hooray! Today is the day! The newest addition to Wplus9, Ever After, is now available for purchase. Get your set here!

Here's my last card of this months release... Stamped a white cardstock strip with the small and large solid gardenia images and a sentiment in Ranger Distress Ink in Frayed Burlap.
Wrapped the stamped strip with Harvest Gold twill ribbon, embellished with Harvest Gold buttons and attached to a kraft card base with dimensional adhesive.

Thought I would share my inspiration for today's card...
This gorgeous photo is from the July-August issue of Country Living. Every once and a while, when I have some free time, I love to turn to home decor magazines for inspiration. I am loving this neutral combo with a pop of color! Thinking of switching out the Lemon Tart for other Papertrey Ink colors. What do you think?!

wplus9 September Release: Full Reveal

Today is the day of the full reveal of Ever After! Stop by here for a look.

How about another sample...This time I went with a simple design, that's both gorgeous and easy to create recreate. I love that this set stamp includes both solid and linear images. Combining the two is a great way to add interest and depth to a simply stamped design.
Started by stamping (onto Plum Pudding) the linear images in Versamark then, layered the solid flowers and leaf in Fresh Snow. Stamped the sentiment in True Black and finished it off with a few perfectly placed rhinestones in both light & dark purple.
I was so pleased with the simplicity and beauty of this card that, I went ahead and made a couple more to complete a set. One in Kraft and another in Berry Sorbet.
Here's a Tip: To help with the recreating process, once the arrangement is figured out, arrange and place the linear images into one side of a large acrylic block and the solid images onto the other. This way your able to ink up, in Versamark, and stamp the linear images in one step. Then, flip the block over, ink and stamp the solid images in Fresh Snow.

The other girls of the Wplus9 design team have even more to share with you today. So stop by and check it out...

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed! Have a great day!
