Embellish Scrapbook Layouts Color Challenge

Time for another Embellish Color Challenge! Check it out... The Challenge: To create a scrapbook layout using the colors pictured above. The Sponsor: Canvas Corp. Check them out here and here.

Ok, so please be easy on me this time around. It's been over 3 years since I last scrapbooked anything. You can say I am way behind on scraping my sons baby album, lol. Anyways, I must admit I had fun with this challenge. It was much easier than I though it would be.

Red was my choice (as long as you don't count the colors in the photos) for the third color of the challenge combo. I also chose to work with a few pictures from a photo session I did recently with my sister and her gorgeous family. I really wanted to focus on the photos of my beautiful sister and her hubby, to create a special layout for her to display in her home. Here is what I came up with...
Started by adhering a cream cardstock circle onto a base of chocolate and vanilla polka dot pattern paper.
To keep with a circle theme, I cut each photo out using a circle cutter. Arranged the photos from smallest to larges and attached along the right side of the large circle.
Before attaching the larger photo, I stamped and attached a cream sentiment strip. Trimmed the edges and attached the photo to the layout using dimensional adhesive. Embellished with a Pure Poppy and a polka dot chipboard button, both strung with chocolate twine.
Finished the layout with an embellished canvas circle. Here's How: This circle started as a round shape of cream colored canvas. To spruce it up a bit, I first punched a heart from cardstock and temporarily attached it to the canvas. This created a mask which I then sprayed over with Candy Apple Red Glimmer Mist. Then I let it dry, removed the mask and embellished with another Pure Poppy button strung with twine.

Embellish Holiday Color Challenge

Time for another Embellish Color Challenge! Check it out...The Challenge: To create a holiday themed project using the colors pictured above. The Sponsor: My Time Made Easy. Check out their great line-up of stamps and digital files here.

Here is what I came up with using both Dashing Through the Snow and The Gingersnaps...
Started by die cutting a Mat Stack #3 from a Post It Note, to use as a mask. Then placed the die cut Post It Note on the front of a white card base and stamped with light pink text. Using the same pink ink, I inked around the Mat Stack mask and around the card edges. With mask still in place, I stamped red snowflakes and then removed the mask.
Stamped mistletoe in green, cut it out and attached to the top of the Mat Stack opening. Finished the card off with a sentiment from The Gingersnaps, a few buttons and some ribbon.

Embellish Bags Color Challenge

Time for another Embellish Color Challenge! Check it out... The Challenge: To embellish a bag using the colors pictured above. The Sponsor: It's In The Bag. Check out their great line-up of bags here.

Here is what I came up with, using the small glassine bag...
Here's an goody bag idea perfect for the holidays, parties or even as wedding favors. Here's how:
Start with a 3" X 9" strip of cardstock and a small glassine bag. Score the cardstock strip at 4" & 5" to create a wrap.
Insert goodies into glassine bag and fold the top down. Fold the cardstock wrap at scored lines and wrap around the glassine bag. Punch two 1/8" holes through the top of both the bag and wrap. Thread ribbon through and tie into a bow.
Embellish the bag/wrap as desired. I've embellished mine with two Soft Stone cardstock strips. A Limitless Labels die cut from Shimmer Pink cardstock and a white circle stamped with snowflakes and a sentiment from Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers. Finished it off with clear rhinestones.

Embellish Color Challenge Vintage

Time for another Embellish Color Challenge! Check it out... The challenge: To create a vintage themed project using the colors pictured above. The sponsor: Pixie Petals. Check out their gorgeous line of embellishments here.

I must admit, vintage it not my usual style. After putting this challenge off for as long as I could and finally creating a card this morning, I surprisingly found this challenge fairly easy. And here is what i came up with, using a Pixie Petals flower and ribbon...
Started today's card by stamping the Hero Arts Lace Background in Chamomile ink (lightest color in the PTI Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo) onto a Rustic Cream card base. Over that, layered the Hero Arts Wreath Of Leaves in SU Wild Wasabi and a sentiment, from Friendship Jar Holiday Fillers, in Dark Chocolate. Inked the card base edges with the PTI Vintage Touch Tea Dye Duo.
Embellished the wreath with antique brads, rust colored ribbon and a yellow flower.

Embellish Challenge Using Squares

Hooray! It's Embellish Challenge time again! Check it out...The challenge: To use the colors pictured above and squares in your projects. The fabulous sponsor: Inchie Arts, LLC. The design team and I were so surprised to find out how much fun these little Inchie Squares really are! Check them out here!

Working with 4 of the white 1" Inchie Squares, I stamped a few images from Flutterby Friend in Palette Noir. Colored them in with green and purple Copics. Today is the start of a new Embellish Color Challenge! Take a look...The challenge: To use the colors pictured above and a quirky-cutesy-clean style. The fabulous sponsor: Lawn Fawn. Lawn Fawn (brought to you by the adorable Kelly Marie) is such a fun and unique stamp company, perfect for a challenge like this one. I am working with a set I couldn't wait to get my hands on, Bake Me A Cake! Love it, I've got all kinds of ideas for this set floating around in my head, just itching to get out.

Here is what I came up with...A fun Topsy Turvy Birthday Cake! Started with some Melon Berry cardstock then, stamped the first layer at an angle, masked off the top (with a Post It Note) and stamped the next layer at the opposite angle. Continued this process all the way to the top.
Cut the cake out, embossed with the Sunshine Impression Plate and embellished with a few hand cut Vintage Cream flowers. Set the cake atop an Aqua Mist cake stand and attached it to a Vintage Cream cardstock strip. Just below the Vintage Cream strip, I attached half of an Aqua Mist Fillable Frames #4 die cut. Embellish Color Challenge Invitations

Hello all and happy Friday! Welcome to another Embellish Color Challenge... These weeks challenge is based off of these amazing photos, brought to you by the fabulous Tina of the Traveling Tribe. The challenge... To create an invitation using the colors pictured above. Our sponsors...Unity Stamp Company! Check out their huge collection of stamps here.

When I think of invitations, I think of creating something that is simple, yet bold. Simple, so that it's not a huge chore to crank out a large number of them. And bold, so that it really makes a statement and grabs the recipients attention right out of the envelope. For this challenge the design team is working with the Soirees & Such stamp set. And to keep things simply bold here is what I came up with...
I chose to work with the elegant chandelier and let it really stand out. Stamped it three times onto the kraft card base in Scarlett Jewell and hung them from some rustic twine bows. Here's a tip: for a clean look on the inside of the card, pierce your holes (at the top of both the image and card front), thread twine through holes so that both ends are at the front of the card and then tie into a bow.
Rounded the bottom corner and finished the card off with some rhinestones and a sentiment.

For the details of the challenge, prize info and more fabulous invitation inspiration, be sure to stop here. Hope you too will give this challenge a try!

Have a great 4th of July weekend!

Embellish Color Challenge - Baby Theme

Hooray!!! It's Embellish Challenge time again! This time around the challenge is to create a project that uses the colors pictured above and is of a baby theme. Our sponsor for this week is someone that I consider a dear friend... Dawn of Wplus9 Design Studio! As a member of the Wplus9 design team, I can personally tell you that these stamps are top quality and stamp beautifully. As for the stamp designs, you can tell that Dawn has put her heart and soul into creating them. They are so unique, amazing and easy to work with.

Here is what I came up with...
For my card, I've used Kisses & Cuddles and Design Basics: Backgrounds 1. Used one of the background images stamped in Versamark onto a Melon Berry cardstock strip. Wrapped it with Spring Moss satin ribbon and attached it to a Vintage Cream card base.
This adorable old style pram is from the Kisses & Cuddles set. Isn't it just too cute?! I paper pieced the pram to match the stamped Melon Berry strip and then embellished it with a cute little yellow bow. I love the sentiments in this set, they fit together so perfectly. Which made stamping this phrase, in two different colors, a breeze!

Now it's your turn to give this fun challenge a try! There's a fabulous prize up for grabs... two Wplus9 stamps of your choice! You can find much more amazing inspiration and the challenge details here. Hope to see your challenge creations soon!
