Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #18

Hello all! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. It's time for another Raspberry Suite Color Challenge, and this one is another stunner... Here is what I came up with...
Decided to give the Moxie Fab World: Not Your Regular Ruffles Challenge another go. I cut the Christmas tree image (from Tree Trimming Trio) into sections, ruffled and adhered ribbon, then assembled the tree back together and embellished with buttons. Not sure what I think of it, but decided to share it anyways.

Stamped a cream strip with my new woodgrain stamp in brown. Attached a cream apron lace border, wrapped with cream satin ribbon and stamped the sentiment (from Signature Christmas).

Hoping to go to the pumpkin patch after church today. Hope you have a blessed day! Thanks for visiting!

Not Your Regular Ruffles

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

It's time now for another Moxie Fab Challenge! This time the challenge is to incorporate ruffles into your project. Here is what I came up with... I went with a circle card again and the same ruffle technique used on this card. This is only the second circle card I have ever created, they are really quite fun! Here is a link on how to create one, done by Ashley Newell, that I found very helpful.
I randomly stamped the shoe images onto the white circle. Cut one out, mounted it with dimensional adhesive and embellished it with a rhinestone.

This Hero Arts wood mounted stamp set, Fancy High Heels (I can't find the actual set that I bought but here is a link to the closest set I could find), was another item that made it home with me the other day when I stopped at the craft store with a friend. I had always wanted to get a cute shoe image to go along with this sentiment from my PTI Green Thumb set.
You may have noticed a little bit of a change around here. Thanks to my super sweet and very good blogging friend, Jessica, I have a wonderful new Blog Banner! Thanks Jessica, you did a wonderful job! I have truly been blessed in many ways with her friendship!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great start to your week.

Another Moxie Fab Challenge

Hello all!

This time the challenge was to create something that incorporates some kind of household item as the focal point. My first card uses the bike image from PTI Everyday Button Bits... To create the wheels, I punch circle from grey cardstock and then stitched the blue buttons on top of the circles. "Enjoy" was stamped in grey ink onto an orange punched circle and adhered behind the main image and ribbon. The rest of the sentiment "the ride" was stamped in cream ink at the bottom of the card.

The second card uses a coffee cup from PTI Warm Happiness. This is a new color combo to me. I had scraps of Aqua, burgundy, brown, kraft and cream laying out on my work space and thought they looked very pretty and warm together, perfect to pair with Warm Happiness.
Using my new border punch on this one, Upper Crest by Fiskers. I have been looking and looking for this one, dying to get my hand on it. The day I finally found it I almost didn't see it. It was in the wrong spot and behind other punches, I had been very desperate by this time and decided to look through each and every border punch. Good thing I did, I would have never seen it if I had not.
Anyways, onto the card... Stamped the circle and kraft strip with the tiny polka dots from PTI Polka Dot Basics II (I just love those little guys! He,he!) in burgundy and cream inks. The buttons were strung onto the twine and then I wrapped the twine around the card and the circle, held it in place with tape on the back side of the circle.

Boy am I cutting it close on this one, the deadline is at the end of the hour!

Oh, thank you all for your wonderful comments on my Embellish Challenge card. I really had a lot of fun making that one and it really means so much that you all are enjoying it too! I hope you all have a chance to participate. Thanks for visiting today, hope you enjoyed!

Holiday Stamped Poinsettia

Happy Friday my friends!

Yes... this is another Christmas card. I wasn't completely satisfied with my first creation for the Moxie Fab Stretch Your Holiday Style: Stamping Challenge, so here is my second try...For this card I used very traditional colors, but... the stamps used (except for the sentiment) were not your usual Christmas stamps. The leaves and flower are from the PTI Beautiful Bloom set and the polka dot flower center is from PTI Polka Dot Basics II. The leaves were randomly stamped with Versamark. The flower (or my version of a Poinsettia) was stamped twice then cut out and layered with dimensional adhesive. To give the flower some extra dimension, I curled the bottom flower leaves (with a pencil) down and the top layer up. Then added a touch of red glitter.
So what do you think of my Poinsettia? It was my inspiration for the card.
I'm sure you all are ready for the Labor Day weekend, got any big plans? We are looking to get more painting done, this time on the outside of our house. Well, what ever you have planned, I hope you have a great time this weekend.
One last thing (I'm sure you all are aware) but I just wanted to give you a link to an exciting and innovative new venture that Ashley Cannon Newell, her husband McArthur, Sarah Martina Parker and Charlene Austin are jumping into. It's called Embellish Magazine and it's an eco-friedly, challenge-based online publication for you to get involved in and potentially get published in! So stop by and check it out!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Holiday Stamped

Hello my friends!

The last Sketch Your Holiday Style Challenge over at the Moxie Fab Blog is A Stamping Challenge. I used the same stamp set as on yesterday card except I stamped the snowflakes in cream onto kraft cardstock. Punched the top with my apron lace border punch then added a torn edge and some floss. Finished the card off with a rounded corner, stamped sentiment and some pearls added to the center of the snowflakes.
I think I'm going to give this challenge another try, as I was posting the link to the Moxie Fab blog I realized that this card was kind of similar to Maren Benedict's Think Snow Card. So I want to create something different. Funny how that happened, I wasn't even thinking of her card when I created mine.

The new DT for the CAS Challenges has been posted. I didn't make it this time but the ladies that did are very talented ladies and have galleries full of fabulous work! I can't wait to see what they create!

I got a nice surprise yesterday... My hubby brought home a new laptop computer. It's so nice and fast, our other computer is out dated and very slow. So now I can work at a faster pace making more time for the family and at the table instead of in the back room shut off from them.

Well, thanks for stopping by today. Hope you have a fun day!

Holiday Classy & Elegant

Happy Monday, I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are ready for another week!

Still in the Christmas mode here today. I've got another Moxie Fab Stretch Your Holiday Style Challenge card to share today. This card is my submission for the Classy & Elegant Challenge. It's super simple but that satin ribbon and those rhinestones give it great glitz and glamor.

Look at that shine! I looks even better in person.
I've been trying out a new background for my cards, thanks to some helpful info from Shannan. What do you think?
Can you guys believe that today is the last day of August, where did the month go?! Christmas will be here before we know it! Thank goodness for these Moxie Fab Challenges, getting me into the holiday mood and giving me a head start on the season.
Well, thanks for visiting me today! Hope you enjoyed the card, I've got one more holiday challenge to do then its back to the everyday cards. Have a wonderful Monday! Bye, bye!

Holiday Fun & Cute

Hi all, hope you are having a great weekend!

I have yet another Christmas card to share with you today. This is what I came up with for the Stretch Your Holiday Style: A Fun and Cute Challenge over at the Moxie Fab World Blog... My cute Santa was cut from some PP I have had forever. Since he was cut from PP he was a little flimsy. So in order to strengthen him and attach him to the card with dimension, I adhered him to white cardstock and then cut him out again. The "ho ho ho" is a rhinestone sticker I have had forever as well. It's good to finally use all these Christmas goodies I have been hording.
I finished the card of with some polka dot scallops, floss and a rhinestone on top of cute little Santa's hat. Oh, can you believe it... not a single stamped image or sentiment on this card! I think that's a first for me on my blog.
I had the hardest time trying to get the perfect shots with this card. I think all the bling was too much for the camera. The photos I posted were the best I could do and I'm still not very happy with them. It looks so much better in person. Oh well, you get the idea though, right?!
Hope you enjoyed your visit with me today!

Holiday Vintage Style

Happy Friday to you all! Yeah, the weekend is just around the corner!

I am playing along with the Moxie Fab Stretch Your Holiday Style Challenges again. Today's card is for the Vintage & Shabby Chic Challenge. I am stepping way out of my element on this one... I went for more of a vintage style on this card. These stamp from SEI were the best images I had for something vintage. To add to the vintage feel I distressing the edges of the green stamped cardstock and the sentiment. The edges of the card base and the green cardstock were inked with Vintage Cream ink. To add the perfect vintage touch I pulled out my PTI vintage buttons... I stitch a row of my most vintage looking cream and brown buttons, then finished off the sentiment with one last button.

So what do you think? Does it have a vintage feel to it at all? I've stretch my style on this one, so I'd love to here what you think!

The weekend is almost here, Yeah!!! Do you have any big plans? I have my 10 year HS reunion on Saturday, hard to believe it already been 10 yrs! Well, hope you have a good one! Thanks for stopping by today!

Holiday Clean and Graphic

Happy Thursday! Today I'm playing along with the Moxie Fab Stretch Your Holiday Style: A Clean & Graphic Challenge. I know Christmas is still a ways off, but it's never too early to work on my holiday stash. Here is my attempt... Clean and graphic style is described as having white space, clean lines, and simple treatment of text. The purpose of these challenges is to stretch your own style and use styles you would not usually create with. For my card I went with a design that I would not normally think to use for a Christmas/Holiday card. I really like the way the "mod" flower turned out, it's funky and fun!

So what do you think, would you call this clean and graphic? So stop on by the Moxie Fab World Blog and check out all the other challenges going on there too. Maybe you can give them a try!
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you have a wonderful day!
