Introducing Gracious Vases Day One

Welcome to the first day of the Papertrey Ink June countdown! I am super excited to share with you the next stamp set in my Stamping Simply line up... Gracious Vases! Which is available for purchase at Papertrey Ink starting June 15th.

Gracious Vases is a $15 set that includes a number of modern vases and perfectly sized fillers, which allows you to have fun mixing and matching to create the perfect center piece for your creations. The sentiments are broken down, which makes for perfect placement and includes even more mixing and matching possibilities. And I am so in love with the font selection of this set!

Now how about a couple samples!...First up, a simple invitation. I die cut a Mat Stack #3 from some Autumn Abundance pattern paper and attached it to a kraft card base with dimensional adhesive. Then wrapped the card base with some Spring Moss satin ribbon. To create a simple focal point, I started by stamping a die cut circle with the larger vase in Orange Zest. Placed a mask over the larger vase and then stamped the smaller vase in Summer Sunrise and the filler in Spring Moss. I then stamped the sentiment in Dark Chocolate and attached the circle to the card base. This sentiment is actually two separate pieces, "you are" and "invited". So, if I had chose to, I could have easily inked and stamped both in different colors.Next up, a thank you card. A sentiment like this is perfect for a number of reason, possibly even for that hostess who invited you to the party you recently attended. For this card I was going for the look of a decorative vase arrangement on top of a table or counter of some sort. I started by die cutting a Mat Stack #5 from Rustic Cream cardstock, trimmed it in half & impressed it using the Woodgrain Impression Plate. I stamped the impressed mat with the sentiment (again, this sentiment was created using two of the sentiment stamps included in the set) and then attached it to a Rustic Cream card base with dimensional adhesive.I then stamped and hand cut these Hawaiian Shores and Aqua Mist vases. Played around with the arrangement, but did not attach them to the card base yet. Once the arrangement was figured out, I stamped the fillers directly onto the card base, being careful to stamp each in it's proper place. Then I was able to attach the vases onto the card base at varying heights.

Well, that concluded my first look at Gracious Vases. I truly hope that you enjoyed! Be sure to visit Nichole Heady and Besty Veldman for even more Gracious Vases inspiration. Also, Dawn McVey, Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford & Alli Miles have peek to share with you of their newest sets for the month. And last but not least Jessica Witty has some of Lizzie Jones' Rhythm & Soul goodness to share too.

Friendship Jar

Hello and welcome!

I love this time of the month, Papertrey Ink countdown! Today is the day that the design team has put together an assortment of fun ideas using the soon to be released stamp sets Friendship Jar & Friendship Jar Fillers. Illustrated by Nichole Heady and based off of concepts and sketches by Michelle Wooderson, these two talented ladies were able to come up with these wonderful coordinating sets that are loaded with fun and endless possibilities!!!

My three year old son has been obsessed with bugs lately (all except for spiders of course, lol!). So, he was my inspiration for today's project. I've come up with an idea that's perfect for his or any little boy's (or possibly girl's) next birthday party! An acetate bug jar invitation and a bug jar party favor... This is a simple project that's easy to replicate and here is how it's done...
For the invite, start out by stamping and coloring the bee (from All About You Additions, soon to be released as well) onto a kraft card base. Next die cut the jar from acetate, the lid and scallops from kraft cardstock and a label from white cardstock (using the coordinating dies). Stamp die cut accessories with coordinating images and the sentiment. Here's a tip: I used Palette Noir ink when stamping the jar onto the acetate, which worked great. Just make sure to give it time to dry before handling.

Assemble the jar and it's accessories together. Place dimensional adhesive onto the back of the jar, making sure to hide it behind the cardstock accessories (as pictured above). Then adhere to the card base over the bee.
Like so!
Now onto the bug jar and the hand made button bee accessory...
Start by punching holes through the lid of a Ball Glass Preserving Jar (16oz). Then cover it with a hand cut fabric scalloped circle...
Which has been stamped with the bee (from All About You Additions) and "for you" (from Friendship Jar Additions) in Palette Noir ink and colored. Wrap lid with twine.
Finish it off with an adorable hand made fluttery bee. Here is how it's done...
Attach a glue dot to the center of multiple twine strands. Loop one side and attach.
Place another glue dot, loop other side and attach. Thread button with twine antennas and adhere another glue dot to hold in place.
Top twine with the button to complete. Now attach it to your project! Wouldn't this little bee just look too cute as a pink buttoned butterfly or even attached to a card!

Check out what the rest of the design team has created for today:

Hope you all enjoyed today's project! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful and blessed Sunday!

Embellish Color Challenge Parties

Hello again my friends! This is my second post today. In case you missed it, please scroll down to see my first post of the day.

You guessed it, it's time for another Embellish Magazine Color Challenge!!! What a fun one we have for you this time around. It's party time!...
That's right, so put your party hats on and use the colors pictured above to come up with a project perfect for a party! So, that means party favors, invitations, gift tags, gift bags and all kinds of party decor. This weeks sponsor is DeNami Design. There stamps make mixing and matching, to create your own design, a cinch!

Here's a simple and easily mass produced birthday party ensemble I came up with for the challenge...
The coordinating pattern papers were stamped using two of the images from the Party Time Stamp Set, stamped in True Black onto Pure Poppy cardstock.
Here is a better shot of the window invite. I created this look by first adhering the stamped Pure Poppy pattern paper to the kraft card base. Then punching the circle and carefully stamping the An Invitation Circle and party hat with in, onto the panel inside. Finished it off with a few perfectly placed buttons (which are also from DeNami Design) and colored the red onto the party hat.
This little wrapped gift box makes the prefect packaging for either a party favor or a birthday gift. To create a perfect match to the card, wrap the contents/gift in kraft butcher paper to fill the box and to coordinate with the kraft card base of the invite. Or simply fill with candy or treats of your choice. I thought Red Vines licorice or Twislers would create the perfect match as well.

So, now it's your turn to get crafty! Find the prize info and link your creations over at the Embellish Magazine blog.

Also, don't forget that the newest Embellish Magazine Publication Call is out. While you've got your supplies out for the latest challenge, why not create a few extra projects (using the call colors of course) to submit and have a chance at getting published!

Can't wait to see what you all create!

Just Swinging By To Say...

Hello my friends! Today I wanted to share a simple invitation I made for a friend (Hi Jamie!). Her son is turning one and they are celebrating with a jungle theme party. The other day we went to the craft store and she picked out these Stampendous monkey stamps for the invitations (Changito Dos). I kept the design as simple as possible since I needed to make a bunch of them.
The vine image was stamped twice at the top of the circle, then the monkeys were stamped to look like they were hanging from the vines. The green panel was stamped with leaves in Versamark. For some texture and interest I added a torn edge and wrapped the green panel with embroidery floss. Finished it off with a sentiment stamped in brown.

Thanks for stopping in today, hope you have a blessed day!
