Another Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #20 Card

Did I say what a fabulous color combo this is! Thanks Dawn for another great one! No really, I really like it. So much so, that I tried it again... Trying something new here, covering the aqua panel with aqua buttons for something different and for a lot of fun texture. What do you think?

Above the buttons is a vine image, from Beyond Basic Borders, stamped in Aqua Mist. Over that is the sentiment, from Damask Design, in dark chocolate. Finished off with more of that lush rust colored satin ribbon.

So, I think that will be it from me today. I think I've really have missed this blogging business, two posts in one day! Hope you have a wonderful rest of the day and thanks for stopping by.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #20

Hello my friends! Hope you are enjoying the Christmas season. Time for another beautiful Raspberry Suite Color Challenge...I realized this morning that today was the last day to participate, so here is what I quickly came up with...
I stamped a kraft cardstock base with an outlined image of the mug from Warm Happiness, in brown and rounded the bottom corners.
Rounded the bottom corners of a cream block, stamped stripes (from Background Basics: Retro) in rust and a sentiment (from Shapes by Design) in brown. Attached an aqua polka dot mug and embellished with aqua buttons, strung onto cream twine. Then layered the cream block over some rust colored May Arts satin ribbon.
So, I am finally feeling better from my cold, but now my little boy has got it. Poor boy, I hate it when he is sick and miserable, I always feel so helpless.
Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Paper Tearing Challenge

Greetings! Over at the Hero Arts Blog they were having a Paper Tearing Challenge. So I had combined the Hero Arts Challenge with the latest colors from the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #18... I don't own very many of their stamps. But this seamed like a great opportunity to create something using minimal Hero Arts stamps since I only own one Christmas set, a sentiment stamp set.

The tree was created by tearing layers of cardstock, adhering them together then cutting away the excess to form the tree shape. Then embellished with a raspberry star and rhinestones.
The snow was torn from cream cardstock, crinkled then adhered to the card base and then the torn edge was lifted for a little dimension. The card base was stamped with a few snowflakes from Winter Swirls set in Versamark.
Hope you enjoyed your visit with me today, have a wonderful day!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #18

Hello all! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. It's time for another Raspberry Suite Color Challenge, and this one is another stunner... Here is what I came up with...
Decided to give the Moxie Fab World: Not Your Regular Ruffles Challenge another go. I cut the Christmas tree image (from Tree Trimming Trio) into sections, ruffled and adhered ribbon, then assembled the tree back together and embellished with buttons. Not sure what I think of it, but decided to share it anyways.

Stamped a cream strip with my new woodgrain stamp in brown. Attached a cream apron lace border, wrapped with cream satin ribbon and stamped the sentiment (from Signature Christmas).

Hoping to go to the pumpkin patch after church today. Hope you have a blessed day! Thanks for visiting!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #17

Hello again my friends! Thanks so very much for bearing with me in my absence. Yesterday I finally had a chance to play around with the newest color challenge by Dawn McVey. Here is what I came up with...
I really liked the flower paper in the picture so this is my handmade version, I randomly stamped the flower image in Versamark, red and aqua inks onto craft cardstock.
Last week when my mom and I were shopping for the party we had this weekend, we stopped by the craft store and I had a chance to pick up some fun fabrics. For this card I stamped a label, from my new Vintage Labels stamp set, onto some burlap and then cut it out (I don't have the coordinating dies for this stamp set, but I did find out that Nestabilities do work on burlap).
The flower was die cut from red felt then stitched onto the burlap with a button and brown floss. Using the same brown floss I stitched "Hi" onto the label.

I hope you had a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #15

Another fabulous Raspberry Suite Color Challenge by Dawn McVey! Here is what I came up with...
The card base is made from cream cardstock, even though it looks white. The butterflies were punched from melon and pink cardstock then crinkled, for a bit of a distressed look, to match the torn edge of the pink cardstock below. Then embellished with spring moss buttons. The vine border was inked in spring moss and the apron lace border was punched from melon cardstock. Finished the card of with a touch of cream twine and a sentiment.

That girl always amazes me with her creative color combos!
Aren't you amazed...No stitching or knots! :D Except for the buttons of course, but that doesn't count. Anyways, I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Thanks for visiting me today, hope you enjoyed the card! Bye, bye!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #14

Hello my friends! So it's time again for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Challenge. I tell ya, this was a challenge for me. First it took me forever to come up with and idea and once I did, it kept changing. Second I found it hard to combine these colors without a dark neutral, like a brown or black. I kept wanting to throw a green in there too and do flowers, but I refrained. So here is my take...I went with a skinny card for this one, they are just so much fun! I inked the balloon baskets and sentiment in burgundy. I don't have Scarlet Jewel (yet!) so I improvised and used a burgundy ink and button I had in my stash. I used SU Perfect Plum for the stamped background and had a purple button in my stash, for the balloon. I have tons of Raspberry Fizz so I pulled out my "bag o buttons" and GG ribbon.Aren't these Hot Air Balloons too cute?! Its so perfect for Papertrey Ink to create a set made for buttons, it's a great way to incorporate any color combo!

So hope you all have a great Thursday. The weekend is almost here! Yeah! Hope you enjoyed the card and thanks for stoppin' in, come back soon!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #13

So today I want to share the card I created for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #13. Dawn is a very talented lady and has an eye for amazing color combos!!! So this weeks challenge is another stunner, such a bright and cheery combo! At first her challenges sometimes throw me for a loop, but once I start playing around and start putting something together, I end up having so much fun! So here is what I came up with...
The polka dots are another one of my new sets from Papertrey Ink, Polka Dot Basics II. They were inked in red and stamped onto berry cardstock. Here is a close up of the ribbon and button detail...
This is such a fun and simple layout. I couldn't just stop at one card, so I went ahead and made two more! Card #2...

Card #3...

This was a good way to increase the number of cards in my stash. Anyways... I hope you enjoyed my cards and thanks to Dawn for another fabulous Color Challenge!

Have a wonderful rest of the day!
