More October 2009 CARDS Publications

Hello everyone! Here is another card and a couple tags that were published in the October 2009 issue of CARDS Magazine.
Here is how the cake was created: cut cardstock strips, emboss strips with swiss dots, adhere strips together (with a cardstock backing), embellish with ribbon and trim then adhere the assembled cake to the card base. Once attached to the card embellish the cake top. The green cake base was cut by hand then attach just under the cake.
The tags were punched from cardstock, punched with a scalloped border then embossed with swiss dots. Stamped and cut out peas, attached to the tag with a sentiment. The buttons were threaded with twine then the twine was threaded though the tag hole and tide to the bows. If you need any more info please let me know.

On the camera front, my mom and sister have graciously offered to share their cameras with me occasionally while mine is in for repairs. Hope to share some new stuff with you soon.

Hope you have a blessed day!

Baby Love

Hello my friends and happy Monday to you! Today I wanted to share a sweet baby card I created (I couldn't decide which photos I liked best so I posted 3 for you today)...The cream circle was stamped with a background stamp, from Background Basics: Retro, in aqua. The sentiment was stamped using two different sentiments from Mixed Messages, it just so happened that they were in the same font.

The stars were punched from melon berry (stamped with stripes from BB: Retro in cream) and aqua cardstock. Then layered with a circle and buttons.

The ribbon was done using the same technique used on this card. Excepted before adhering the ribbon I ran a straight stitch down one side with thread, bunched it together tightly then adhered and stapled. Creating this much ruffle did take a lot of ribbon, but I really like the way it turned out.

Well that's it from me today, hope you have a wonderful start to your week and a blessed day. Thanks for stopping in today!

Not Your Regular Ruffles

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend.

It's time now for another Moxie Fab Challenge! This time the challenge is to incorporate ruffles into your project. Here is what I came up with... I went with a circle card again and the same ruffle technique used on this card. This is only the second circle card I have ever created, they are really quite fun! Here is a link on how to create one, done by Ashley Newell, that I found very helpful.
I randomly stamped the shoe images onto the white circle. Cut one out, mounted it with dimensional adhesive and embellished it with a rhinestone.

This Hero Arts wood mounted stamp set, Fancy High Heels (I can't find the actual set that I bought but here is a link to the closest set I could find), was another item that made it home with me the other day when I stopped at the craft store with a friend. I had always wanted to get a cute shoe image to go along with this sentiment from my PTI Green Thumb set.
You may have noticed a little bit of a change around here. Thanks to my super sweet and very good blogging friend, Jessica, I have a wonderful new Blog Banner! Thanks Jessica, you did a wonderful job! I have truly been blessed in many ways with her friendship!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great start to your week.

Circle Card Color Challenge

Hello there friends and happy Monday! The latest challenge over at Embellish is to create a circle card using these colors... Here is what I came up with...
I first cut the circle for the image panel and stamped one of the trees from Tree Trimming Trio in green. Then stamped the sentiment, from Signature Christmas, in brown over the tree. Embellished with buttons.
For the ribbon, I cut another circle (same size as the image circle), placed adhesive around the edges and ruffled the ribbon along the adhesive. For extra staying power, I stapled each ruffle into place. With dimensional adhesive I attached the ribbon circle onto a brown circle base then the image circle over the ribbon.

I have to admit... I have never made a circle card before! Don't know what took me so long to try it, I really like the way it turned out. Going to have to do it again soon.

Thanks for spending some time with me today, hope you enjoyed. Hope you have a great start to your week.
