CAS Hero Arts

Hello all! I've got a few minutes to make a quick post. So, here are a couple single layer CAS cards I whipped up in not time at all. Using my new Hero Arts stamps...For this card I started by stamping the clouds, then the bird cage and sentiment. Then drew a line, to hang the bird cage from, using a ultra fine black Sharpie marker and called it done.
These Hero Arts feathers are stunning. They look amazing just by them selves and I couldn't get myself to add anything else to this card. Stamped them in Plum Pudding, Scarlet Jewel & Raspberry Fizz. Stamped the sentiment and then called it good.

Thanks for stopping by today, make sure you drop in tomorrow for a look at some brand new Papertrey Ink goodies! Have a good one!

Ashley is such an inspiring artist and one of the hardest workers I know. I hope she can enjoy a day devoted to relaxing! Be sure to stop by Ashley's blog and leaver her a birthday greeting, I'm sure she will truly appreciate it on her very special day! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful start to your week.

Embellish Color Challenges With Dimension

Hello all! Hope your ready for another Embellish Color Challenge because this weeks challenge colors are a must! Please excuse me for my absence and for only just now posting my challenge card. The last couple days have been very crazy and exhausting. My hubby had to have an emergency appendectomy yesterday, he is now home and he and I are getting the rest we've needed.

Anyways, back to the challenge. To participate use the colors pictured above (aren't those colors gorgeous?!) and add a pop of dimension. This weeks sponsor is the fabulous Renaissance by Design. They have a amazing line of stamps that you really need to check out! Like these gorgeous coffee cups from the Coffee & Tea set...I can hardly believe it but, yes that is pattern paper! I always find pattern paper a little challenging, but I am trying to be much better about using the stuff.
The solid coffee cups were stamped in Aqua Mist, Spring Moss & Terracotta Tile. Over that I embossed the flower pattern in white. A great tip when embossing an image over another stamped image is to make sure the bottom layer is completely dry before sprinkling the embossing powder. That way the embossing powder only sticks to what you want it to. To quicken the drying process of the first layer, I found that hitting it with the heat embossing tool does the trick perfectly.

So, I hope you too will play along with us and create a project for the challenge. Can't wait to see what you come up with! You can check out the Embellish Challenge details and prize package here.

Thanks for visiting me today! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Happy 1st Birthday

Hello all! Last weekend a good friend of mine had a 1st birthday celebration for her daughter, these were the invitations she and I had created for the party... The kraft base was stamped with flourishes from Fancy Flourishes using Versamark ink.
The cloud label was die cut and stamped (in Sweet Blush) using the matching Fillable Frames #3 Die and stamps. The sentiment was a combination of "Happy Birthday" (from Butterfly Dreams) in Pure Poppy and "1" in Sweet Blush from Outlines Alphabet. Punched and embossed the butterflies with swiss dots, then attach the fluttering butterflies up the side of the card.

We had to create 25 of these babies, which adds up to 125 butterflies! We quickly found that the best way to create a bunch of these fluttery butterflies is to start by punching a bunch out. Layer as many as possible into the embossing folder and then run all of them through the embossing machine at one time.

If your in need of a girly birthday card this idea would work perfectly. Just change the "1" to the age of the recipient.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all are enjoying your week!

Baby Boy

Last week I shared a baby girl card and today I bring you a baby boy card, using the newest Wplus9 stamps...The little toy train and sentiment are from Kisses & Cuddles. Stamped the train off to the side in Enchanted Evening. Used "Boy" & "Baby" to stamp (in Enchanted Evening) along a Spring Rain cardstock strip to create the sentiment strip. Scalloped the bottom edge of the white cardstock using the Small Scalloped Border Die.
To finished the card off I embellished the card with a few buttons. The large button I strung with 1/4" white silk ribbon that I had stamped with a background image from Design Basics: Backgrounds 1 (in Enchanted Evening). It was super easy to do: just tape the ends of the ribbon down to hold it in place and stamp with desired image, then give it a moment to dry completely.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a wonderful day!

Kisses & Cuddles

The latest stamp sets from Wplus9 are now available and for me they could not have come at a better time! A very dear and close friend of mine just had her baby on Wednesday! Since today is release day, the design team is holding a group post day. So, I have a card to share using the new stamps... You know me, a very clean and simple (CAS) kind of gal. To keep things simple, I stamped the adorable little bunny in Dark Chocolate and dressed her up with a girly little Sweet Blush bow and sentiment (all from Kisses & Cuddles). The sentiment is actually two different stamps. I stamped the "Welcome" first, then under that carefully placed "little one" so that the bottom of the "m" fit perfectly between the two words (hope that makes sense).
The patterned strip of cardstock was stamped using one of the background images from Design Basics: Backgrounds 1 in Sweet Blush. To finish off the card I embellished the patterned strip with some Dark Chocolate twill ribbon and button.

Want to see even more cuteness using these new images, just stop on by the other design team girls blogs:

Hope you all enjoyed and have a wonderful weekend!

I'm Cuckoo For You

Hello all and happy Friday! I've got some Hero Arts goodness for you today, they sent me a box of goodies earlier this week and have been dying to play with them. So late last night, once I finished a few To Do's, I stayed up until 1:30 in the am (which I do too often!) creating a couple Hero Arts cards using the Cuckoo set...This cuckoo clock is just too cute and I just had to pull out the Copics! I've been doing a little practicing with my Copics and I love them! Think I'm starting to get the feel for them.
I love the way the woodgrain turned out using three different shades of brown, such a fun look.

Going for a CAS single layer card here...
Same idea as the card above, just no layering and colored directly onto the kraft cardstock. I really like how coloring onto craft gives you a softer feel.

So, I think I am officially a colorer now. Yeah! Hope you enjoyed today's cards and have a wonderful weekend. Will be back tomorrow to share a card using the brand new Wplus9 stamps (which will be available tomorrow as well).
