Hello and welcome to the fourth day of the Papertrey Ink August Countdown and the first Design Team group post. Today's post is all about the new Halloween sets... Mr. Bones, Happy
Haunting & Tremendous Treats: Halloween. I've got a lot to share with you today... 1 tag, 2 treat wrap and 4 cards. So let me get started...
First up... Mr. Bones, by Heather Nichols. I've combined this set with my Spider Web Die Trio and used the small and medium sizes to impress webs into a Rustic White cardstock panel.
Then stamped the panel with a Mr. Bones sentiment and attached it over two types of Orange Zest pattern paper. Die cut, stamped and attached the cute spider.
Up next... the tag, using this adorable skeleton image. I forgot to include an original shot of this skeleton, but I wanted a bit of movement from his arms.
Here's how: I die cut and stamped two skeletons and then trimmed the arms above and below the elbow joints. With a couple of mini brad handy for reassembly.
I attached the skeleton (with the arms trimmed below the joint) directly to the tag and kept the arms (trimmed above the joint) for attaching.
Placed the arms in the desired position and then, using a piercing tool, I was able to pierce a hole through all layers and held everything together with the mini brads. Finished the card off with a heat embossed sentiment.
Onto the second set... Happy Haunting, by Melissa Bickford. An adorable build your own monster set. I began this card by masking and stamping a row of ghoulish ghost in a color combo of Orange Zest, Berry Sorbet & Melon Berry.
Trimmed the edge and finished the card off with a sentiment.
Next... the treat wrap. Thes little packages were die cut using the Lunchbox Note Die from Royal Velvet, Orange Zest and True Black cardstock. Stamped each one with the monster outline and heat embossed with clear embossing powder to create ghostly figures.
The inside features a mini die cut web, using the Spider Web Die Trio, folded over a candy filled glassine bag. I fix the bag into place with a bit of score tape.
The third and final set for today... Tremendous Treats: Halloween, by Nichole Heady. For this card I chose to work with the spider image, I stamped him three times onto Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise and Simply Chartreuse pattern papers. Stamped the spider again, this time onto rustic white cardstock and colored (using Copic Markers) the heads to coordinate with the pattern papers.
Strung twine spider webs (using the technique featured here), attached the spiders and finished the card off with a sentiment. Here's A Note: The twine used is actually cream colored crochet thread and I've had the same role for almost two years now. In case your wondering, you should be able to find your own at your local craft store.
Last, but definitely not least... my favorite card of the day.
Using the Take Three Die, I cut six squares and embellished each one with either an image or die cut web. Then finished the card off with brads and a sentiment.
Well, there you have it. I hope you've enjoyed! Just remember that all of these sets will be available for purchase beginning August 15, at Papertrey Ink. Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...
