Introducing Uncorked

Hello and welcome to the fourth day of the Papertrey Ink November countdown!

Today's group post is all about the new set Uncorked and coordinating die.  The wine bottle tag die is one of my all time favorites and I'm thrilled to finally have a stamp set to compliment it!

Hope you like what I have to share with you today...
I present to you a simple yet elegant wine wedding gift ensemble.
To set the scene I began by stamping a strip of cardstock with wine filled wineglasses in sweet blush and scarlet jewel.  I then attached it to a kraft die cut wine bottle tag.
Embellished the tag even further with a die cut miniature bottle of wine, stamped in scarlet jewel and gold, which I tucked in behind the sentiment banner.  I just love how the cork die cut was made to be adhered behind the bottle top!
Included in the ensemble is a sweet and simple card. A sweet blush wine bottle (top and bottom) was stamped directly onto the white card base.
Around it kraft cardstock panels were attached with dimensional adhesive. Two layers were attached across the kraft panels and over the opening. "Cheers" was die cut from gold cardstock.

Well, that concludes my look at UncorkedJust remember... these products will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning November 15th.

Monthly Moments: November

Hi there! Welcome to day three of the November Papertrey Ink countdown.  I'm joining the design team today in sharing sneak peeks of the new Monthly Moments: November.  I just love the little bits and pieces included in this set!  I had fun exploring the possibilities of each of them and I think I've come to some pretty fun results.

Let me get right to the project...
November is a month to count your blessings. Not your typical sentiment for a thank you card, but I thought this would be a unique way to share how grateful you were for someone in your life by simply listing a few blessings inside.
I created a colorful focal point using ink colors ripe avocado, scarlet jewel and canyon clay.  I stamped the image in each color twice without re-inking and flipping between each impression.

Well, that concludes today's look at Monthly Moments: November. Just remember... this set will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning November 15th

Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...

Cover Plate: Peony Die

Hi there! Welcome to day two of the November Papertrey Ink countdown.  I'm here today to share a few samples using one of this months dies... Cover Plate: Peony DieThis new cover plate was a blast to play around with! And its also one of my favorites of the cover plate series.  Hundreds of possibilities are available to you when using this cleaver die, but for you today I've kept things simple.

So, let me get right to today's projects...
First up, I die cut the cover plate from sweet blush pattern paper.  I tilted and attached this to a rustic white card base and then trimmed off the excess.  The white background really lets the die cut take the show.
This uplifting sentiment comes from the soon to be released A Cheerful Heart stamp set.  I love taking any opportunity to trim sentiments apart, and this sentiment is perfect for such a technique.  The tilt of the die cut already gives this card a great deal of movement, but the added touch of staggered stacking with the sentiment really takes this simple card up a notch.
Again, I die cut the cover plate from pattern paper (melon berry pattern paper to be exact).  Before attaching it to the card base, I chose to trim off the thick outer edge.  I just LOVE how this idea creates a sort of invisible frame to surround the die cut peony.
This grateful sentiment comes from the soon to be released Holiday Thanks stamp set.  And yep, again with the trimmed sentiments.  Here's A Tip... If you're wondering how I attached this delicate cover plate to the card front, I'll let you in on a little secret...  The dimensional adhesive is hidden under the sentiment strips.
Last but not lease, I die cut the peony cover plate from white cardstock.  I really wanted to take this simple die cut up a notch...
And so I placed it over a randomly arranged cardstock and pattern paper strip background.
I didn't want to distract too much from the background, so I whipped out the soon to be released Type Strips stamp set and coordinating die and created a simple sentiment.  Which I thing compliments the design perfectly. Love it when that happens!

Well, that concludes today's look at  the Cover Plate: Peony Die. Just remember... all that you have seen today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning November 15th

Instant Photo: Holidays Revisited

Thanks for joining me today for the November Papertrey Ink Senior DT Challenge. This time around we are bringing back Instant Photo: Holidays
Looking for a unique idea for this years Christmas photo card?!  Well you're in luck!  Today the senior design team is sure to have what you are looking for.  Instant Photo: Holidays and its coordinating die make such fun interactive cards, your family and friends are sure to love them!  Check it out...
This simple photo pull out card could easily be mass produced in time for the holidays!  Just a simple white base (die cut using the coordinating die) and a few embellishments to pull it all together.
I decided to pair this sweet bow (made using supplies from the MakeIt Market Kit: Tinsel & Tags) along with the sentiment from Instant Photo: Holidays for the front.
I just love the two tone stamping options included in this set!  Here I've stamped the sentiment in black and layered the matching piece in ocean tides.
For the inside I've simply die cut the pull out tag from pattern paper (this one is included in the MakeIt Market Kit: Tinsel & Tags), attached a photo and stamped a bit of ribbon into place using my tiny attacher.  I just love how the ribbon pops out of the end when inserted.

Well, that's it from me today. Hope you enjoy this month feature! Now be sure to visit the other Papertrey Ink senior design team girls for more Instant Photo: Holidays goodness...
Thanks for stopping by today!

Versatile Wine Bottle Tags

Thanks for joining me today for this weeks Papertrey Ink Design Team Tip!

The gift giving season is upon us.  With that in mind, I thought it would be fitting to share with you one of my favorite ways to dress up a gift for someone special.  The Wine Bottle Tag and Tag Sale #5 dies pair beautifully together and can help you decorate a bottle (whether filled with wine, homemade sauces, flavored syrups, etc.), gift, and card with ease.  Both are very versatile and I've got quite the assortment to share with you.  So, let me get to it!...
The Wine Bottle Tag can beautifully dress up a gift of wine, but that's not all it's good for.  I've used it for other projects too... to decorate table napkins, bottles of teriyaki sauce, waterbottles, as hanging gift card holder, and even as door knob hangers.  My hope for today is that you too will become aware of just how useful this simple die truly is!
One of my favorite ways to decorate the wine bottle tag is to pair it with the Tag Sale #5.  Which I've layered together for my first wine bottle sample.  The wine bottle tag was die cut from pattern paper found in the MakeIt Market Kit: Tinsle and Tags.
The tag sale #5 was die cut from rustic cream cardstock, stamped with trees from the Holiday Cheer stamp set and then die cut again using a Wet Paint Holiday die "JOY".  Then finished off with a bow (also from MakeIt Market Kit: Tinsle and Tags) and a rhinestone.
So, we now know that the wine bottle tag is good at embellishing bottles and such...

But it's also great on cards!  Makes creating clean and simple Christmas cards a cinch!  Simply trim off the top edge and attach.
Again I've paired it with the tag sale #5 die, but this time only the bottom portion was used.  The tag edge was topped with a stamped gift (from the Jolly Holiday stamp set) and a sentiment (from the 'Tis the Season Sentiments stamp set).
I've got one last wine bottle tag to share with you.  This one is my favorite.
The pattern paper is from the MakeIt Market Kit: Tinsle and Tags.
I wanted to share with you how cute it would be to create a matching wine bottle tag and gift box tag.  Coordinating the two shows off a gift ensemble perfectly.
I just love this poinsettia (from the Painted Poinsettia stamp set) stamped in a color combo of sweet blush, pure poppy, scarlet jewel, limeade ice and ocean tides.
One last look at just a few project possibilities available when combining together the Wine Bottle Tag and Tag Sale #5 dies.

So what do you think?!  Could this become your Christmas wrapping of choice this year?  I sure do hope so!  Well, that's it from me today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Homemade Holiday Gifts & Tags

Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink October countdown.

Thanks to today's product feature I have my Christmas gifts and wrappings already planned out for this year.  I'm fairly certain that after viewing today's project selection (brought to you by the design team) you will too!

I have a lot to share with you today.  So, let me get started...
My first gift ensemble focuses on the Canned stamp set and coordinating dies.  I've never canned anything in my life, but I still absolutely love all Weck canning jars.  I am so excited to share my love for them this year by filling them with homemade mustard and meat rub.  No canning involved, just fill, cap, decorate and refrigerate.  Easy peasy!  Here are the jars I used, size #976.
Mustard recipe found here. I kept the wrapping simple to let the jars and the contents take center stage.  I simply wrapped with smokey shadow ribbon and tied the ends through the hole I punched in the banner style die cut (included in the Jar Bonnet die collection), which was stamped with the coordinating strip stamp in smokey shadow ink.
I used the same technique when decorating the rub jar.  Just used half of the Folded Foodie Tag and stamped it with the coordinating stamp.  The recipe is one my hubby came up with and we use it all-the-time.  Delicious on tri-tip and burgers!  In case your curious, he let me share it...
1/4 C brown sugar, 1 tsp fresh cracked pepper, 1/2 tbsp salt, 1/2 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tsp smoked paprika and 1/2-1 tsp chipotle chili pepper (depending on how much heat you like).
My second ensemble is a pillow box and ornament tag combo, created using the Cross Stitch Alphabet dies and Cross Stitched stamp set.
Each include a hand stitched monogram.
I'm sure most of you know by now, but the Essential Pillow Box is perfect for gift cards! Here's a nice shot of the stitched monogramming and the bow tied from soft stone grosgrain ribbon.
Here's a shot at how the ornament started out.  I used the label shape die (included in the Jar Bonnet die collection) and die cut three times from scarlet jewel cardstock and once from matching pattern paper.  Using a 1/8" hole punch I punched through all four pieces at the same time.  Scored down the center of each of them.  Stitched one, dated and signed (if you prefer) another and attached the final two together.  Using a strong adhesive (I like these and these!) I attached all three side together, strung floss through the holes to create the loop for hanging and finished it off by threading 1/4" silk ribbon through the holes and tied the ends together on the pattern paper side.
The "Handstitched for You" phrase is included in the Cross Stitched stamp set.  This side is perfect for writing a person message to the receiver, would work best if you could do it before assembling.

My final ensemble uses the Vintage Favor It Box die and coordinating Just a Little Something stamp set.
Inspired by this photo, I chose to create a limeade ice, kraft and scarlet jewel box stack wrapped with smokey shadow ribbon.  Each box fits four chocolate squares perfectly.
Topped the boxes off with a couple holly leaves (die cut using dies from the Seasonal Stitching die collection) and a banner (created using the Just a Little Something stamp set and die) tied on with black Baker's twine.

Well, that's all I've got for you today. Just remember... everything you've seen peek of today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning October 15th
