Paper Crafts Magazine Presents: 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Paper Crafts 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop! Today, 12 of the most-published designers of today's special issue, Holiday Cards & More Vol. 6, are bring you some quick 'n easy holiday cards. First off, check out this seasons issue.... Goodness, this cover is gorgeous! I don't know about you, but I find creating for the holiday season, in the middle of the year, quite a challenge. This time around, when creating my magazine submission, I tried to challenge myself a little more and created an assortment of non-card projects. Turns out to have been a good call, because 5 of my non-card projects (along with a few cards too) were picked up for this issue. I still have yet to receive my own Holiday Cards & More Vol. 6 issues, but I am anxiously awaiting a peek!

Now, how about a single layer quick 'n easy card, perfect for mass producing in no time... I started with a Rustic White card base. Stamped the sentiment, from Stylish Sentiments: Holiday, in True Black ink. Layered a few small and large poinsettias, from Bells & Boughs, in Spring Moss ink. Then stamped flourishes, from Holiday Photo Finishers, into the corners using Ripe Avocado ink.Finished the card off with a few black rhinestones. And that's it!

The purpose of the this hop is to get 12 brand new ideas for quick & easy holiday cards. So be sure you visit all of the talented designers who have joined in on the Blog Hop fun...

I'm not done yet! Who's up for a prize?! Make sure you stop by the Paper Craft Connection blog, you can leave them a comment and be entered into their fabulous giveaway. Be sure to post your comment by 2 AM EST on Sunday, October 2nd.

Also, don't forget to leave me a comment as well. Of course, I'd love to hear from you! But I'll also be selecting a winner to receive an issue of Holiday Cards & More Vol. 6 for free! Be sure to post your comment by 2 AM EST on Sunday, October 2nd. I look forward to hearing from you!

Card Creations 9

Hello all! Have you seen the new special issue magazine from Paper Crafts yet... Card Creations 9? This issue if full of fabulous and inspiring creations. I've already gone through my issue, front to back, a few times. You can get yourself a copy here.

I have a few cards featured in this issue. So, I thought I would share a few of them with you today. In case you missed them: Paper Crafts Connection featured my Celebrate This Day card here and Cath featured a couple of my cards on the Moxie Fab World blog, here and here. I am extremely honored that Paper Crafts and Cath would feature my cards, but I find it kind of funny that my cards were featured as Vintage and Fun & Cute styles, both are not styles I would consider my self good at. Guess I really need to step out of my box more offten. So, thanks Cath!

And here is one of my favorites from the issues...

Starting with a Vintage Cream card base, I stamped it with a wreath from Wreath For All Seasons and a sentiment from Delightful Dahlia, in Rangers Distress Frayed Burlap ink. I know that Mother's Day has already come and gone, but by switching out the sentiment you could have yourself a birthday card too. Die cut a Mat Stack #4 from some Green Tea Leaves pattern paper. Wrapped with Melon Berry ribbon and attached with dimensional adhesive.Inked up the wreath dots/berries in Spring Moss, stamped off on scrap paper and then stamped over the wreath. This gave the dot/berries a lighter impression. Randomly stamped the tiny flower in Melon Berry and then finished the card off with a Melon Berry button, twine and a few hand cut Spring Moss leaves. I love how these hand cut leaves play off of the green leaves found in the pattern paper!

Also, have you seen the latest The Chevron Chic Challenges over at the Moxie Fab World blog. I hope to see you guys pull out your Background Basics: Chevron Stripes sets and join in on the challenge fun! I'm looking forward to seeing what you all create!

That's it from me today, I hope you enjoyed! Have a super day!

A Card Creations Celebration

So, this entire week has been a huge celebration for everyone at the Paper Crafts and Moxie Fab blogs, promoting their latest magazine edition... Card Creations, Favorite Occassions.

The week started with a post featuring me here (a huge thanks to all who left me such sweet comments on that post, you made my day!!!) and finished with a bang of a challenge here. The challenge was given to the top 5 designers, of this issue, and we were asked to create a brand new card in one of these five occasions: Birthday, Thank You, Congrats, Love and All Occasion. But there was a catch, we were all sent the exact same product - Pink Paislee's Sweetness collection. The purpose of the challenge was to show how different designers adapt product for different occasions. Check out what we all came up with here.

I usually find myself struggling to come up with a card when it involves scrapbooking supplies. I'm usually more of a stamp, ink and cardstock kind of girl. But this line is gorgeous, and before I knew it, I had completed 5 cards! First one was the challenge card here, second was the one below and I hope to share the other three with you soon. Anyways, onto today's card... Attached a Sweetness Clear Card to a Soft Stone card base. Attached a glitter "Cutie" frame sticker over Pink Shimmer cardstock, trimmed and attached.
If you look closely you can see the soft pink damask that covers the entire clear card. Check out the detail of the ornate silver design, just gorgeous. I used another clear card on my challenge card too, see it here.
Didn't want to cover it up too much, so to help direct your eye across the card, I embellished with a few Sweet Blush buttons and a white silk ribbon bow.

That's it for today, hope you enjoyed. Thanks for stopping by!
