Happy Trails

Hello all! Today is the second group post day of the Papertrey Ink countdown. This time around the design teams focus is on a new set designed by Nichole Heady's, Happy Trails. This set is full of things that leave behind "trails". You'll need to visit every Papertrey Ink design team member today to find out what they are.

For my project, I chose to work with the paper airplane...I started by stamping the sentiment onto a Soft Stone card base in True Black ink. Then stamped three airplane trails in Smoky Shadow ink and rounded the bottom corner.Using the coordinating Happy Trails die, I die cut three paper airplanes from white cardstock and stamped the paper airplane image in True Black ink. For a bit of added interest, I drew inspiration from the folded newspaper airplanes and hats of my childhood and pulled out my Background Basics: Newsprint set and stamped each paper airplane in Smoky Shadow ink.To continue this fun theme onto the inside of the card, I folded a small paper airplane from a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of computer paper. Attached it to the inside of the card, inserted a folded bill and sealed the edges closed to help keep it in place. Stamped a trail in Smoky Shadow ink and a sentiment from Fillable Frames #3 in True Black ink.

Well, I hope you've enjoyed this little peek at this new set! Now be sure to visit the rest of the design team for even more Happy Trails fun...

Thanks for stopping by, have a great one!

Papertrey Ink - May 2011 Release Projects (Part 2)

Hi! I'm back with the rest of my Papertrey Ink May Release projects. Today I bring you a selection of boy/masculine cards....First up, a patriotic card using Est. 1776 by Tiffany Pastor. Stamped the card base to mimic the American flag (in Chai Vintage Touch ink) and then grouped all the sentiments in Enchanted Evening and Pure Poppy inks.Finished it off with a ribbon/button flag embellishment. How about a sweet baby card?! Using Whale Wishes by Dawn McVey. I completely covered the Fine Linen card base with this adorable whale image.Used the Rock & Roll technique when I inked up the whale, using two different blues, and topped him off with some tiny hearts. How about some Road Trip stamps and pattern paper by Heather Nichols?! I combined the two to create a unique pattern paper which I placed at the base of the card front.I then pulled out Boy Basics: Truckin' It and did some masking when stamping this map. Started by stamping the solid map in Chai Vintage Touch. Stamped the sentiment and truck in Dark Chocolate, colored with markers and then placed a mask over the truck. Finished it off by stamping the map overlay in Dark Chocolate and peeled off the mask. Last, but not least, Tag-its #4 by Heather Nichols. I used the grad cap along with the whale from Whale Wishes.Create a few ocean waves by masking and inking with the Simple Circles Border Die.

So there you have it, I hope you've enjoyed the goodies from yet another fabulous release! I'd love to hear what you all are looking forward to receiving the most from this months release! Can't wait to see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!

College Bound

Hello! Hope you all are enjoying your Friday! I've got a cute little graduation card to share with you today... This is a combination of a hat from For The Graduate, car from Enjoy The Ride and clouds from Hero Arts Clouds background stamp.
The wind shield was cut out using a craft knife and then, behind the opening, I adhered a piece of acetate. Used glass brads for head lights then, attached the car over a sentiment strip created by using a border (from For The Graduate) and a sentiment (from Enjoy The Ride).

That's it from me today. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
