Pedal Pusher

Hello and welcome to the fourth day of the Papertrey Ink May countdown and the first Design Team group post. Today's group post is all about showcasing the new Pedal Pusher.  As most of you already know, clean and simple is so my style.  I just love how easy it is to stamp a card using the build-able pieces from Pedal Pusher.  It's perfect for create a colorful and detailed one-layer card.  Check it out...
My focus on this first flat card is the fun wedding can image.  I began by stamping to two step bike... wheels in gray and bike in aqua.  Here's A Tip:  For a bit of interest, I created the look of movement by stamping a portion of the bike slightly off the edge of the card base.  This unexpected detail takes this simple card and kicks it up a notch.
The little additions you choose to add to this basic bike image are what make your project unique.
Up next, I've paired Pedal Pusher with the balloons and bow from Birthday Style.
I knew I wanted to have the balloons carry the bike away.  Working with a number of larger images was a little tricky to incorporate onto a small 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card front.  But by stamping both the balloons and bike over the edges I was able to achieve just that.  I love the end results!

Well, that concludes my look at Pedal PusherJust remember... this stamp sets will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning May 15th

Side By Side Sentiments Day Three and Tiny Triangles

Hi there! Just popping in quickly for day three of the Papertrey Ink countdown to share a few more samples using the latest addition to my Stamping Simply lineup... Side By Side Sentiments.  Also peeks at the new Cover Plate: Triangles die and its coordinating Tiny Triangles stamp set.  Be sure to visit Nichole Heady for more details and some wonderful samples that she has whipped up with these new products.

So, let me get right to it...
First up, a card using all three of the items I am showcasing today... Side By Side Sentiments, Tiny Triangles and Cover Plate: Triangles die.
I began by impressing the die at a slight angle.  Here's How: Using the traditional embossing sandwich (for my Cuttle Bug embossing machine) I ran it through my machine while using a Post It Note to hold the die into place on the card front.  Here's A Note: I did stamp the sentiment before impressing the die and the triangles after.
My next project utilizes the Side By Side Sentiments set and the Cover Plate: Triangles die.  Here's A Fun Idea: The triangle strips were trimmed by hand from a die cut cover plate, from white cardstock.  I totally spaced and forgot to take a pic of the process.  Boo.  Just  A Note:  But, once trimmed I stamped the ocean tides, new leaf and limeade ice ink pads directly onto the trimmed triangles.
The sentiment was selectively inked using the same colors.
For the final project I've used the Side By Side Sentiments and Tiny Triangles stamp sets.  In a fun color combo of aqua mist, melon berry and soft stone.
Here's  A Tip:  After finishing all the stamping, I felt the bottom right corner was not quite strong enough to be the focus.  So a few perfectly placed gems did the trick of catching the eye.

Well, that's all I've got for you today. Just remember... these stamp sets and die will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning May 15th. In the mean time, I'd love to know what you think so far, so please feel free to share!

Side By Side Sentiments Day Two

Hey there! Thanks for joining me for day two of the Papertrey Ink May countdown. I'm back today to bring you more of my new set... Side By Side Sentiments.  From the looks of it, it sounds as if some of you are as excited about these set as I am!

Now onto today's creation...
A Fun Idea: Try breaking up the sentiment.  The side by side formation allowed me to easily stamp the front portion of the sentiment onto a piece of pattern paper and then the latter portion directly onto the card base.  Here's How:  I began by temporarily attaching the pattern paper strip into place, so that it laid nice and flush with the card front. Once inked, I precisely (while looking through the acrylic stamp from directly above) stamped the sentiment.
After the ink dried I stapled a bit of twine into place and simply tied it into a knot.  Here's A Note:  Working with this particular hemp twine, since it has a bit of a waxy finish to it, holds a bit of curl after winding it around a pencil.  Makes for the prefect twist and slight curl. Along the outer left edge is a bit of impressed detailing, this was created using the Mehndi Medallion impression plate.  I then finished the card off with a heart circle (from Bountiful Banners) and an enamel dot.

Well, that concludes today's look at Side By Side Sentiments. Just remember... this stamp set will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning May 15th. In the mean time, I'd love to know what you think, so please feel free to share!
