Desktop File: Inspiration

Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink June Countdown and the second design team group post day. This time around we bring you Desktop File: Inspiration stamp set. The girls have hit it out of the park with this one!  What a genius idea to turn a convenient Rolodex into an inspiration file that's at your fingertips every time you create.  I am extremely pleased with the way my project turned out.  Let me share...
I chose to go the small and simple route.  I don't have much space when it comes to my crafty surface and I wanted to make sure this inspiration file was small enough to keep close and at an arms reach.  So I bought a simple Rolodex for about $7 at my local office supply store.
I also chose to go with a Beautiful Butterflies theme, in a color combo of Melon Berry, Aqua Mist & Terracotta Tile.  I die cut the tabbed file cards from white cardstock and stamped each with a few butterflies.
For added protection, from my messy craftiness, I die cut an additional tabbed file card from clear cardstock and placed at in the very front.  And for in between all the tabs, I bought a package of Rolodex refill cards (plan).
Moving on now to the inspiration.  I chose to place three different sketch tabs... Vertical Sketches (which are most commonly used by me), Horizontal Sketches and Square Sketches.  Using the refill cards, I stamped each with the grid pattern in Soft Stone ink.  Then stamped the card shaped Sketch Starters in Smokey Shadow ink.
The arrangement on these cards allows me to sketch and jot down quick notes, all on one card.  I also love, love, love having the grid lines to help me make cleanly sketched out ideas.
Last inspiration tab is the Color Combo tab.  A girl can't ever have too many of these!  Stamped the Color Combo Block in Smokey Shadow ink, jot down the color combo and filled the tiny squares with the coordinating ink.  Easy peasy!
Well, there you have it. I hope you've enjoyed! Just remember that the Desktop File: Inspiration stamp set will be available beginning June 15, at Papertrey Ink. Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello Sunshine

Hello and welcome to the third day of the Papertrey Ink June Countdown and the first Design Team group post. Today's post is all about the new Hello Sunshine stamp set & the new Sunrise impression plate. We each chose an inspiration piece of some sort that serves as a jumping point for a set of cards.  I'm also helping Nichole showcase today products and I've got a lot to share with you today. Let me get started...
First up, the inspiration piece (found via Pinterest here) which inspired the first two cards...
For my first card, I began by drawing inspiration from the umbrella. First, by choosing to use a color combo of Summer Sunrise, Terracotta Tile, Melon Berry, Soft Stone, Ocean Tides and Aqua Mist.  Which I used when stamping the die cut sun rays.
Second, by arranging the die cut sun rays to form the shape of an umbrella, as if your looking down on one.  Then finished the card off with a sentiment from the We Go Together stamp set.
The layout of this next card was roughly inspired by the photo above.  I pulled out the clouds and placed the focal point in about the same position as the umbrella.
I began by impressing a Lemon Tart panel using the Sunrise impression plate.  Then stamped the Hello Sunshine sentiment onto a white panel and attached both the a kraft card base.  Finished the card off with a felt circle and a few die cut clouds.
These next few cards were not inspired by the photo above, just pulled them out of my little old brain.  This card began with a sunny topper, which I stamped in Orange Zest and Summer Sunrise inks.
Finished the card off with a few die cut clouds and a sunny sentiment.  All images and the sentiment are from Hello Sunshine.
I love how well these hot air balloons (from Up, Up & Away) pair with the Sunshine impression plate!  I began by impressing a Rustic White panel and then attached it to a Smokey Shadow card base.
Then die cut, stamp (in a color combo of Sweet Blush, Melon Berry & Terracotta Tile) and attach the hot air balloons.  Stamped a Hello Sunshine sentiment and finished the card off with a Smokey Shadow button.
Last, but not least... a little something out of the ordinary.  I took the sun rays and stamped them in a super trendy color combo of Aqua Mist, Lavender Moon, Melon Berry and Lemon Tart.
Stamped them all along the base and finished it all off with a sentiment (from the We Go Together stamp set) to create a simple and modern card.

Well, there you have it. I hope you've enjoyed! Just remember that both the Hello Sunshine stamp set & the new Sunrise impression plate will be available beginning June 15, at Papertrey Ink. Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...
