Star Gazer

Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink April Countdown and the second design team group post day. Today's group post is about showcasing all of the amazing possibilities with Star Gazer & Additions. Yet another on-trend stamp design!  I just love it! I love to watch a trend transform.  I've seen constellations in tattoo designs, textiles, home decor and even jewelry.  And now available in stamp form!

Well, for today, I as well as the design team have some much to share with you using these new cool sets!  Let me get started...
With today's theme focusing on constellations and such, I thought that a fitting color theme to work with would be a simple black and white, with a bit of shimmer worked in too.  First up, a simple card focusing on a single constellation from the Star Gazer set, which I heat embossed using black powder.
Take a look at that glossy shine.  Just A Note: For a bit more shine, I added a small strip of black shimmer cardstock (you'll find an introduction to this new product on Nichole's blog) along the edge and then topped it with tiny die cut stars (from the same cardstock) for bit of added dimension.
My next card utilizes Star Gazer Additions, which I've paired with the Wonderful Words: Birthday Die.
Here's How:  The original sentiment stamp already includes the word birthday, but to remove it from the stamp (so I can replace it with the die cut word) I simply placed a piece of scotch tape over that word alone, inked up the stamp, removed the tape and stamped it into place on the card front.  Once the "birthday" die cut was attached, I repeated the same steps so I could ink up "star" alone and stamped it into place.
The "birthday" die cut was cut from shimmer white cardstock and then stamped using the vintage star chart image, in black.  The letter openings were filled with shimmer black cardstock (thanks to Cristina's genius idea on her card here, 6th one down).

Well, that's all I've got for you today. Just remember... Star Gazer & Additions will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning April 15th

Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...
Thanks so much for stopping by!
