Knit Bits

Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink November Countdown and the second design team group post day.  This time around we focus on Knit Bits, Purls of Wisdom and Handle With Care.  Check out Nichole Heady's blog for more info.

At my house, this weekend, we broke out the wood and started a fire in the stove. Kept it going all weekend long too. It was wonderful! Knit Bits couldn't have come at a more opportune time. There's nothing like pulling on your most comfiest knit sweater or socks and keeping toasty warm, on a chilly day, in front of the fire.  Inspired by the warmth, here a little something I've made...
The main detail on this card is the huge cable knit chevron.  Love the way this turned out!  I used a pretty color combo of sweet blush, melon berry and ocean tides.
Each color cardstock strip was clear embossed with the beautiful cable knit detail, ends were trimmed at an angle and then attached with dimensional adhesive.  Finished it off with a sentiment from the new Think Big Favorites #22.
Next, I was inspired by the tiny heart in the Knit Bits set and the friendship sentiment from the Purls of Wisdom set to create a sweet gift package.  Perfect for tucking a pair of fuzzy socks, an ear warmer or pretty much any small handmade gift of appreciation.
This gift bag was assembled using the same technique featured in a video tutorial I put together here.  This time I used a small coffee bag and simply tied the bag closed at the top of the die cut tags.  Stamped the tag in a fun color combo of enchanted evening, berry sorbet, summer sunrise and Ranger Arichival viridian (a pretty minty color).  All that fabulous stitching is from the new Sew Simple Borders stamp set.
Here's a shot of the backside.  I just love the edge of this Tag Sale #7 die cut!

Well, there you have it. I hope you've enjoyed! Just remember that all the new items used today will be available for purchase beginning November 15, at Papertrey Ink. Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...
Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. You never, ever disappoint. Been waiting to see what you'd do with this release. And you,so to speak, knocked it out of the park. Everything about these projects scream class and talent.

  2. I'm really loving the cable knit image. And I love your creativity in making it into a chevron. Awesome.
