Countdown to Christmas and Snowflake Flurries Day Five

Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink October Countdown and the second design team group post day. This time around we focus on creating different ways to record and/or celebrate each passing day in December.  Using the new Countdown to Christmas and/or Countdown Details.

I'm very excited about my project today! I've always wanted to make a more interactive Christmas countdown calender, something other than a daily chocolate or paper ring to be torn off. And now I've done exactly that!

Let me share...
I've filled a handmade box (created using the new Favor It Box 7 die and limeade ice pattern paper) with 25 tiny envelopes, one for each day of December until Christmas.
25 envelopes filled it perfectly, but if more are needed (to account for all of December) more can always be added once room is made after opening the first few.  Numbers of the day and "December" were stamped onto a strip of sticker/label sheet (picked up a few sheets at my local office supply store).
These two are a bit more special.  The 24th and 25th days were stamped with corresponding "Christmas Eve" and "Christmas" text.
The stamped sticker strip was then adhered around the envelope to close up the flap, once filled with the desired goodies.
All kinds of tiny goodies can fit perfectly within these mini envelopes...
  • Coins
  • Dollar Bills
  • Gum
  • Stickers
  • Fake Tattoos
  • Notes
  • Activity Cards (fun ideas here!)
  • Just to name a few
I'm so excited to give this a go come December!
How about a card... using the new Countdown to Christmas and Countdown Details stamp sets.
Attached and trimmed the tiny polka dot flag across the stamped circle, stamped one cardstock flag with the tiny calender numbers, stamped a strip with "Christmas" and attached it all to a soft stone card base.
My final project today is also my last Snowflake Flurries card for the countdown.  I had hoped to share another card or two today, using the Snowflake Flurries stamp set, but I've been under the weather with a nasty cold that's been zaping away my energy.

Anyways, this card all began with the die cut and heat embossed snowflake medallions...
On spring rain, lavender moon and aqua mist cardstock with clear embossing powder.  I've attached each one onto a white card base that had been heat embossed with a few stripes from the new Background Basics: Super Stripes set.  A Christmas sentiment is what I have chosen for this card, but any other sentiment would suit this card perfectly, for more of a year around use.

Well, there you have it. I hope you've enjoyed! Just remember that all the new items used today will be available for purchase beginning October 15, at Papertrey Ink. Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...
Thanks so much for stopping by!
