Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink August Countdown and the second design team group post day. This time around we bring you Teach & Inspire.  For today's assignment we bring you two types of projects... one card application and one gift item.

This is the week... my little boy starts kindergarten.  Gasp!  I know, he will do just fine and both of us are excited to find out who his teacher is.  Thanks to today's post, I'm already set with the perfect teachers gift and I am extremely pleased with the way my projects turned out.

Let me share...  

I've assembled a heartfelt teachers card and a coordinating upright photo frame, perfect for the teachers desk.

First up... the card!  I stamped a 2" panel with the Teach & Inspire banner images.  All in a color combo of  Pure Poppy, Orange Zest & Simply Chartreuse.

I attached the stamped banner panel to a Rustic White card base, using dimensional adhesive, and then finished the card off with a few Simply Chartreuse buttons.

Inside...  I stamped the tree trunk and sentiment using Hero Arts Cup O' Joe ink and the gorgeous tree top image, using the Rock & Roll technique, in Orange Zest and Simply Chartruse inks.  Then stamped in Pure Poppy, hand cut and attached an apple.

Next up... the upright photo frame.  I couldn't be more pleased with the way this project turned out!  Not only is it perfect for a teachers desk... how about your own desk or dresser at home?!  This photo was taken last year; my son was so excited to attend his first day of preschool and I have a strong feeling that he will be just as excited to start kindergarten this year too.

Here's How:  I began by die cutting three Fabulous Frames.  I then layered them all together, with strong adhesive, to create a sturdy base.  To the backside, (please forgive me for the mess above) I attached dimensional adhesive while being careful to leave just enough room to slide a photo into place.  I then cut a back side cover by cutting cardstock to the size of... 3" x 3".  Then adhered it into place.

The stand was created from a piece of cardstock measuring 3" x 2".  I scored it 3/8" from the edge and then trimmed of the bottom edge at an angle.  Please Note:  The cut angle needs to begin at the scored line in order for the stand to fit right and the frame to sit right.

I attached the stand using some strong adhesive and then slid the photo into place, easy peasy!



Embellish as desired!
