Autumn Acorns & Background Basics Houndstooth Day 1

Hello my friends! It's day one of the Papertrey Ink Countdown, hooray! So, today I bring you the first samples of my latest stamp sets... Autumn Acorns & Background Basics: Houndstooth. Both will be available for purchase beginning August 15th at Papertrey Ink.

First up, a bit of Autumn Acorns...

Within Autumn Acorns are 5 different sized leaf images, 4 of which I used on the card above. I inked the leaf images, using the Rock & Roll technique, stamped into a row onto a Rustic Cream card base and then topped it off with "Happy Thanksgiving" (also included in Autumn Acorns). To add a bit of interest, to this single layer card, I embossed a few raised lines using the scoring blade on my paper cutter.Next up, Background Basics: Houndstooth and a bit more Autumn Acorns. I started this card by inking the leaves, using the Rock & Roll technique again, and then stamped them onto the Rustic White card base. I then stamped a kraft cardstock block with the largest houndstooth pattern (there are two strips included in the Background Basics: Houndstooth set, one small and one large). Die cut the Mega Mat Stack #1 from the center of the stamped block and attached it to the card base with dimensional adhesive. To compliment the Autumn Acorns stamp set are two coordinating Autumn Acorns Dies, one for the leaves and another for the acorns. For today's card I pulled out the Autumn Acorn Die for the acorns, this die includes 6 different acorn shapes and sizes that coordinating with solid bottoms and different patterned tops included in the stamp set. I die cut and stamped three polka dot topped acorns and layered them over the stamped leaves at different heights, using dimensional adhesive. Finished the card off with a stamped sentiment (also from Autumn Acorns) and Fine Linen ribbon.

Well, that concludes my first look at Autumn Acorns, Autumn Acorns Dies & Background Basics: Houndstooth. I truly hope that you've enjoyed! I'd love to know what you think, so please share!

Now, be sure to visit Nichole Heady and Besty Veldman for a peek at Table Service. Also, Dawn McVey, Heather Nichols & Melissa Bickford have peeks to share with you of their newest sets for the month.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Maile

  12. Those leaves come alive with the rock and roll technique. I'm also really intrigued about the trick for the lining up the houndstooth.
