So I did do some crafting this weekend, just not as much as I though I would have. We got a lot done around the house and took a fun off roading 4X4 trip on Saturday, with my hubby and son. I did have time to create a card for the Embellish Polka Dot Paradise Color Challenge...Aren't these colors fabulous! Love that flower too! Here is what I came up with...
Using burgundy, orange and light orange cardstock, tearing and distressing the edges, then layering, I created a neat gradient color effect. I stamped and heat embossed the cream card base with tiny polka dots, from Polka Dot Basics II, in clear embossing powder. The embossed dots are such an awesome detail, I really LOVE the way it turned out! You have to try it! Click on the photo for a closer look.
Wrapped the edge with twine and tied with a button. Layered the leaves, from Beautiful Blooms that were stamped in orange then with cream polka dots, under the button. I chose this sentiment, from Men of Life, for the card because of it's polka dots (after all this is a polka dot challenge too). Then finished the card off with two more buttons and rounded the bottom corner. I am really happy with the way it turned out!
ETA: The latest challenge over at the Moxie Fab World Blog is Gradient Is Radiant, gradient which is achieved by color changing gradually. What a coincidence, a couple of days after I posted this card this new Moxie Fab Challenge was posted and I already had the perfect card to post. Stop on by and check out the other fabulous creations that have been submitted and give it a try your self.
Thanks for stopping in today, I hope you enjoyed your visit with me today.

ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful Maile. Love the torn paper and using the darkest to lightest. It is absolutely stunning.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this card is spectacular! So many details that just make this beyond amazing!
ReplyDeleteOh. my. goodness. Seriously, you need to stop being so perfect!!! Hahaha!! (you know I'm just teasing you!;) But man girl!! This is soo awesome!! I LOVE how you did the cascading of the colors with the torn paper, and the embossed polka dots, the buttons, the leaves, the sentiment, the twine- it's all just soo perfect!! I made a card for this challenge too. But I am afraid to post it, I don't like it all that well, and now that I see your card, it makes mine look very insignificant. Same with the moxie fab challenge, I actually made it a while ago, but never posted it cause, well, I know it doesn't stand a chance against any ones, it's really pathetic, that and I really didn't have a stamp set or anything that would work good for the challenge. But I tried using what I had. :(
ReplyDeleteBut I can't wait to see what you came up with for the MFC!
Ok, I'll stop saying so much on here, I'm sure it really bores others to see my exasperated comments!! Hehe!!
