Papertrey Ink March Release Projects

The Papertrey Ink March countdown is about to come to an end and I'm here to share my final projects with you today. But, before I do, let me remind you that everything you've seen peeks of will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink beginning 10 pm EST tonight.

Now, let me get started!...
Gatsby Glamour by Nichole Heady.
I flipped the frame onto its side and embellished with a few shimmer gold enamel dots.  Simple yet elegant.
Just Smile by Melissa Bickford.
I stamped a pretty little row of blooms in a color combo of limeade ice, raspberry fizz, berry sorbet and summer sunrise.  A tilted frame to add focus to the special sentiment.
Putting Down Roots by Lizzie Jones.
The layering abilities with this set gives this one-layer card a touch of dimension, and a cool color combo of soft stone, ocean tides and limeade ice really makes it pop.
Birthday Classics: March by Dawn McVey and Polka Dot Basics III by Nichole Heady.
This sentiment nestles perfectly into corners, I took this corner portion up a notch by adding a tilt. A color combo of raspberry fizz, sweet blush, limeade ice, ocean tides, summer sunrise and canyon clay is perfect for a spring birthday.
Monthly Moments: March Collection by Heather Nichols.
A simple "hello" sits on top of a fun hand stamped pattern, made using a single arrow image from this set.
Phrase Play #2 by Nichole Heady.
Color-blocking makes the perfect backdrop for this Phrase Play #2 die cut.

Well, that's all of them!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Teams fabulous projects as well...
Thanks for stopping by!

Personalized Coin Purses & Possibilities

Welcome to the final day of the Papertrey Ink March countdown and the second design team group post day. Today's group post is focused on the Coin Purse and Coin Purse Pockets Dies.  Erin Lincoln has done a stellar job with this creative die collection!  I was completely surprised by how easy the coin purse assembly was.  And the end results are just too cute for words!

Here's how I was inspired to use them...
My projects for today center around a color-blocked theme.  The coin purse and coordinating tag use a color combo of melon berry and raspberry fizz, in both felt and cardstock.
First up, lets take a look at the color-blocked coin purse... or should I say wristlet.  The addition of a twill ribbon loop makes it possible for a little hand to be inserted.  Here's How: The color-blocked look was achieved by adding an additional partial layer into place, on the bottom edge, and then stitched as you normally would.
Next, a coordinating tag to finish off the ensemble.  Die cut using the new Tag Sale #10 die and topped with twill ribbon.
A white shimmer cardstock star (die cut using the Sketched Stars die collection), a white button, melon berry floss and a sentiment (from Birthday Classics: March, soon to be released) to finish things off.
Here's a non-traditional use of the new dies.
I've used the outer edges of the coin purse die cuts (cut from spring moss, Hawaiian shores and aqua mist cardstock) to layer a fun color-blocked top edge.

Well, that's all I've got for you today. Just remember...  everything you've seen peek of today will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning March 15th

Introducing Embellished Elegance

Hello and welcome to the fourth day of the Papertrey Ink March countdown and the first Design Team group post!

Today's group post is all about showcasing the new Embellish Elegance stamp set and coordinating dies.  I'm so happy to be working with Embellished Elegance!  It's a beautiful set that's easy to work with and produces wonderful results.  Take it simple or go all out.  With a set like this, the sky is the limit.

Our challenge today is to create two projects, one simple and one more elaborate.  I've chosen to stamp a simple embellished sentiment and a detailed background to feature today's lovely set.  Check out what I've cooked up for you today...
First up, the simple take.  I simply stamped the sentiment (in spring rain and true black) and embellished it with a single vine element (my favorite from the set).  Added a touch of color to the vine using the tiny floral images in these colors... spring rain, melon berry and sweet blush.
To the bottom edge of the card front, I layered a couple strips of smokey shadow cardstock. I carefully trimming a notch and attached the top strip with touch of dimensional adhesives, creating a bit of lift to the notched end.
Next, my elaborate take.  I chose to work with the same vine element to create a hand stamped pattern.
Did you notice how I did not cover the entire front of the card base with the pattern?  Yep, that was done on purpose.  Kind of unexpected and I liked it that way.
To take this design even farther... I die cut the individual blooms, stamped (with both the blooms and stem image) and attached them with dimensional adhesive.  Then finished the card off with a sentiment from the Keep It Simple: Thank You stamp set (also coming out this month).

Well, that concludes my look at Embellish EleganceJust remember... this stamp set will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning March 15th

Now, be sure to see what the rest of the Papertrey Ink design team has in store for you today...

Wet Paint

Hi there! Welcome to day one of the March Papertrey Ink countdown.  I'm here today to share a few samples using one of this months new set... Wet Paint (designed by Nichole Heady). This stylish set features large words in a trendy paint stroke look and are perfectly sized to be used as a focal point, a background or supporting some of your favorite images.  It's a wonderful set to play around with!

Keep in mind that this set will be available for purchase beginning March 15th at Papertrey Ink.

So, let me get right to today's projects...
First up, a Wet Paint sentiment supporting a stamped watercolor background.  I hand stamped this watercolor stripe background using the Watercolor Wonder stamp set in a color combo of Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist and Harvest Gold.
The "Happy" sentiment was stamped onto the top portion of a die cut panel, die cut using the smallest die from the Tipped Tops die collection.  Only the top portion was attached and the rest was cut away by hand.  Then finished this card off with a sprinkling of coordinating sequins.
As I mentioned above, this set is great for creating strong focal points.  A strong focal point is sometimes all you need when creating a simple one-layer card.
This card was stamped using the heart circle, "enjoy" and "your day" from the Wet Paint set.  I simply stamped them in a color combo of Ocean Tides, Sweet Blush and Melon Berry.
Last but not least... a background!  Such an easy technique that takes no time at all.  I chose a few words included in the set and stamped them, nestled one next to the other, across the front the card base.  Sticking with the color combo of the day... Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist and Harvest Gold.
Then finished the card off with a butterfly sequin and enamel dots from my stash.

Well, that concludes today's look at Wet Paint. Just remember... this set will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning March 15th

Strawberry Patch Revisited

Hey everyone! It's so good to be back!  If you've been wondering what I've been up to during my absents check out this post.

Thanks for joining me today for the March Papertrey Ink Senior DT Challenge. This time around we are bringing back Strawberry Patch and Strawberry Patch SentimentsSpring is in the air!  What a sweet treat you are in for today, as the Senior Design Team brings forth their best projects using the Strawberry Patch stamp sets.  Like me, you too may be longing for warm spring days even more after today. Here are a couple cards I've created just for today. I hope you enjoy them.

Take a look...
Here's a sweet and simple berry card.  I whipped out the Berry Basket die just for this project.  I die cut it from simply chartreuse pattern paper and only used a portion of it.
I made sure to fill the basket with some very ripe berries, stamped in both berry sorbet and pure poppy inks, using the rock and roll technique.
Then finished the card off with a Strawberry Patch sentiment, from the sentiment stamp set.  I stamped the phrase at the bottom edge of white cardstock and trimmed by hand the top portion, giving this strip a whimsical touch.
For my second project I whipped out a sweet sentiment and some tiny berries, also from the Strawberry Patch Sentiment stamp set.  I embellished the twirly ends of "berry" with sprouting berries and leaves.  Such a cute little touch.
This was stamped onto the top portion of a die cut panel, die cut using the smallest die from the Tipped Tops die collection.  Them mounted onto more simply chartreuse pattern paper.

Well, that's it from me today. Now be sure to visit the other Papertrey Ink senior design team girls for more Strawberry Patch goodness...
Thanks for stopping by today!
